And I'm sure this has been in all previous versions of the game:
When you win a championship in order for a player to get "a ring" he has to be on the active roster. This sucks because the greatest QB I've ever had outside of Dean Houston - 6 time MVP (!!) Darius Neal - got injured week 16 with a 5 week injury. I got a bye so with him sitting out week 17 he was questionable for the Conference semi-final game. I played him , we win that game and the conference final and get a trip to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately he was injured and declared out for the Super Bowl. I deactivate him and we still wind up winning. Except he doesn't get a ring because he was not active. Instead of having 3 rings he only has 2.
Not sure how it is in real life but I'm almost positive if you're on the 53 man roster you get a ring (although I'm sure that's at the discretion of ownership but I'm still sure everyone gets a ring).
