Ok, here is my premise for this dynasty. I will follow the career of FOFC created players in the FBCB. Anyone who wants to be involved simply needs to submit their players info and I will add them to the recruit list.

The rules are as follows:

1) You are allowed 550 attribute points to spend on your players 16 different attributes.

2) You are allowed 300 potential points to spend on your players 12 attributes that are allowed this rating.

3) You must name your player, give him a position, a jersey number, a height, a weight and a home town and high school.

My thinking is that the 550/300 points should give us a batch of decent players that will wind up finding time on the mid/low tier teams.

I will follow the recruiting of your player and then, once he signs (or walks on :) ) I will follow their progress.

To get things rolling, here is my player:

Great idea Groundhog! What about academics, will you be doing that randomly? I'll post my player in a bit, but for those who are new to the game:

Ins = Inside game, points in the paint
Jps = Jump shot
Fts = Free throw shooting
3ps = Three point shooting
Hnd = Hands, dribbling, etc
Pas = Passing, ball distribution, good for PGs
Orb = Offensive rebounding
Drb = Defensive rebounding
Psd = Post defense, inside defense
Prd = Perimeter defense, outside defense
Stl = Steals
Blk = Shot blocking
Qkn = Quickness (I have to admit I don't really understand the function of the physical stats very well)
Jmp = Jumping?
Str = Strength
Sta = Stamina

Groundhog
02-03-2004, 12:17 AM
As far as academics I'm just going to give each player a 'safe' score. I don't think it'd be too fun seeing your player head off to a juco school for 2 years, and then proceeding to go about missing most his jnr and snr years due to academics :)

Ardent/Blade, no probs with the copying and pasting, but if you'd rather adjust your ratings now that Peregrine has spelled out the attributes that is no problem also.

As far as the physical stats are concerned, here is how I would interpret them:

Quickness: Most important for PGs, SGs & SFs. Leads to higher chance of fastbreaks (both from when your player gets steals, and from other situations such as beating the press), as well as just increasing the overall offensive and defensive ability of your players.

Jumping: I assume this rating would influence a players ability to rebound the ball, score close to the basket (lay-ups, dunks and the like) and probably their shot blocking too. I guess all positions would ideally be decent here, but I don't think it's as important a rating as quickness for the back court (PGs/SGs/SFs), nor as important as strength for the inside players (PFs/Cs).

Strength: This should be of a decent level for PFs and Cs, followed by SFs to a lesser extent. I don't consider it an important rating for SGs and PGs. Helps with rebounding, post defence and inside scoring.

Stamina: Players endurance level. Equal importance to all positions, perhaps slightly more so to guards, but I find that all positions tire at around the same rate.

Peregrine
02-03-2004, 12:36 AM
Potential, btw is rated on the player card on an A-F scale, basically the 1-100 number you assign to each skill in potential is rating how much room for improvement there is over the player's current score. Players with As or Bs will expect to see big boosts over a few years, they will tend to be much better as seniors than as freshmen/sophomores.

Potential is a separate ranking from 1-100 from the current skill level, which is also 1-100.

Groundhog

One last bump for this. I'll be putting all the above players in to the sim when I get home from work tonight (roughly 6 hours from when I post this)!

Groundhog
02-04-2004, 12:37 AM
Also, I ran a test last night and noticed that if a player doesn't get a scholarship offer all season, he falls off the face of the earth.

To combat this, if the season is finished and one or more of the created players gets no scholarship offer, I will overwrite an incoming walk-on freshman on the team that is ranked #1 on the players top-5 list. If there is no room on that team, I will place the player on their #2 team and so on.

Peregrine
02-04-2004, 01:17 AM
I wondered about that Groundhog. It seems to me that the "end of season" recruiting stuff needs some tweaking anyway. For example, if I have a scholarship offer to a player when the year ends, I'm not sure if they can commit after the year is over, or whether new walkons are just generated to fill in the empty spots.

Well, looking forward to seeing how this goes, hopefully it won't be too much work.

Groundhog
02-04-2004, 01:23 AM
Another issue I've noticed is that the players I create in the 'Future Recruit' pool don't get any high school stats. It's not a huge problem, but I've let HR know and I'll see what he says.

Peregrine
02-04-2004, 01:25 AM
Interesting, are they given the numeric rankings and star rankings like regular recruits?

Groundhog
02-04-2004, 01:40 AM
Yep, they are star-rated and given and overall and regional rating, and they are definately cpu-recruited, too.

Groundhog
02-04-2004, 07:10 AM
RealDeal: As Peregrine states, potential is a seperate score not related to the actual rating score, So it's not a matter of adding the two together. For example, if I have a guard with a FG score of 95, but a FG potential of 1, it means he is incredibly unlikely to ever reach 96 or above. If he has a FG of 95, with a potential of 100, he'll likely max out next off-season. With that in mind, your potentials are illegaly high.

MrBug708: I totalled your potentials (after seeing you wind up a 4-star recruit :) ) and counted 646 potential points, which is a touch above the 300 limit. Please edit your post with a legal amount.

Technically a player can't have a rating of 0 (well, I've seen it in the 1-20 scale but never in the 1-100) and it's pretty rare to have anything lower than 5. I kinda think Groundhog got things off to a bit of an unrealistic start with all his 1s, but we'll see how it goes.

Interesting, one three star recruit, two two-stars, and the rest one-star. I think some of the players are being punished in the scouting department a bit for having low scores, I've noticed in the game that players who have one or two high scores and several very low ones tend to get scouted pretty low, but if you fit them into your system in the right way they can pay off big!

If you saw this guy jog on to the court prior to the game, you'd be making all kinds of comparisons to Kevin Garnett. He's tall, slim and moves very quickly. Then you'd see him try and shoot the basketball... Fact is, while a great rebounder, Anderson is simply not a basketballer. That he scores even 1.2 PPG at the high school level is an absolute miracle, probably the fault of a player on the other team getting a few goal tending calls as he swatted away Anderson's air balls.

Yup, players were definately penalised for putting 0s or 1s in attribute fields, which is of course quite fair. If my neighbours 2 year old daughter is an equally good offensive rebounder as your player (ie. 0), chances are that may scare off some schools ;)

I'll be simming the first month of recruiting tonight when I get home from work (approx. 6 hours from now). There is quite a bit of 'paper work' for this dynasty report though, so it'll take me awhile to type up all the updates for the 18 guys. Still, expect it out tonight.

Ok, one month in. Lets see what kind of attention (if any) our players have been recieving:

Kyle Smith, SF

The #61 player spent the best part of July on the phone to hopeful Div. 1 coaches. Central Connecticut is still his #1 choice right now, but surely the interest from Maryland will be hard to look past?

July top 5: Central Conn, Boston U., Albany, New Hampshire, Lehigh
August top 5: Central Conn, Siena, Detroit, Maryland, Iona

Peregrine Falcon, PF

Despite showing an initial interest in South Carolina, the phone calls of a couple of big name schools has quickly pushed the Gamecocks out of his top 5. Charlotte continues to gain his interest, along with Memphis and Pennsylvania.

July top 5: South Carolina, Charlotte, Winthrop, Appalachian State, UAB
August top 5: Charlotte, Duquesne, Davidson, Pennsylvania, Memphis

Mike Tokunaga, PF

Mike's phone remained pretty quite this week. Cal State Fullerton is still his favourite, and no new schools entered his list.

July top 5: Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois, Boston U., East Tenn State.
August top 5: same

Jeeber D. Mack, PF

Still getting lots of interest from his home state, Jeeber now finds himself leaning more toward Texas Southern than UTEP. Southern is graduating three inside players after this season, so there should be plenty of room for him to step in and contribute. He'd find minutes much harder to come by with UTEP, who is equiped with a couple of young talents in the post.

July top 5: UTEP, Texas Southern, Grambling, Denver, Air Force
August top 5: Texas Southern, Denver, UTEP, Grambling, Air Force

John Galt, C

Galt is getting plenty of interest from schools. Columbia have backed off somewhat, but there are plenty of other teams in the mix for this talent.

July top 5: Columbia, Wagner, Manhattan, Stony Brook, Fairleigh Dickinson
August top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Columbia

Colton Mayes, PG

No change in Mayes' world this past month. Mercer is still the current favourite, followed closely by Western Illinois.

July top 5: Mercer, Western Illinois, Grambling, Alcorn St., UMKC
August top 5: Same

Rick Jolley, PF

Western Michigan replaced Canisius as Jolley's top choice, with Loyola-Chicago shooting up the list as well.

July top 5: Canisius, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Niagara, Loyola-Chicago
August top 5: Western Michigan, Loyola-Chicago, Canisius, Northern Illinois, Niagara

Kyle Kappe, PG

Kyle's phone was kept busy by the Californian schools again this month, with UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State showing the most interest.

July top 5: Cal Poly, Long Beach St, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Weber St
August top 5: UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, Long Beach St., Weber St

Dan Barile, C

Vermont made a big impression on Barile this month, but the other schools on his list kept quite. Vermont looks like the clear front runner at this point for the big man's services.

July top 5: Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford, Vermont
August top 5: Vermont, Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford

Well, as the rest of our 9 recruits found out, the early goings can be very slow if you aren't a high profile recruit. There were no changes amongst the following recruits, and likely won't be until players start committing and teams start having to look further down their want lists.

Now just two months away from the early signing period, things should be heating up a little bit amongst the top recruits.

Kyle Smith, SF

Well, lots of change in Smith's world this month. The Maryland call proved to be a flash in the pan, whilst Central Conn went from front runners to being knocked out of the race. Marist have instead come out of nowhere to grab the lead, followed by 4 other schools who weren't mentioned in Smith's top 5 for August. It seems either Kyle Smith is having a hard time making up his mind, or teams are finding out that his listed height is NOT a typo, and he does infact stand 5'7 rather than 6'7 :)

July top 5: Central Conn, Boston U., Albany, New Hampshire, Lehigh
August top 5: Central Conn, Siena, Detroit, Maryland, Iona
September top 5: Marist, Virginia Tech, Massachusetts, Boston College, Dayton

Peregrine Falcon, PF

A good deal of change in Falcon's primary options this month. Charlotte's interest wanned slightly this week, which led to Duquesne emerging as the front runners, followed closely by 3 new schools.

July top 5: South Carolina, Charlotte, Winthrop, Appalachian State, UAB
August top 5: Charlotte, Duquesne, Davidson, Pennsylvania, Memphis
September top 5: Duquesne, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan, McNesse St, Charlotte

Mike Tokunaga, PF

A whole lot of crickets and blowing tumbleweed are all that Tokunaga's been hearing the past couple of months. Cal State Fullerton continues to show the most interest, and Mike will be hoping that a scholarship offer is forthcoming.

July top 5: Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois, Boston U., East Tenn State.
August top 5: same
September top 5: same

Jeeber D. Mack, PF

UTEP look to be coming back in to the picture for Jeeber, however Texas Southern continues it's lead in the race for the big man's signature.

July top 5: UTEP, Texas Southern, Grambling, Denver, Air Force
August top 5: Texas Southern, Denver, UTEP, Grambling, Air Force
September top 5: Texas Southern, UTEP, Denver, Grambling, Air Force

John Galt, C

Not a lot of change in Galt's preferences this month, with Columbia slipping out of the top 5, and being replaced by Colgate.

July top 5: Columbia, Wagner, Manhattan, Stony Brook, Fairleigh Dickinson
August top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Columbia
September top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Colgate

Colton Mayes, PG

Once again, Mayes isn't getting much attention from other schools. Mercer is leading the pack (much to Mayes' chagrin), but will they offer him a scholarship next month?

July top 5: Mercer, Western Illinois, Grambling, Alcorn St., UMKC
August top 5: Same
September top 5: Same

Rick Jolley, PF

As with a lot of the other guys below, Jolley didn't experience much attention this month as teams still try to reach for the higher profile recruits. This will change once the early signing period starts.

July top 5: Canisius, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Niagara, Loyola-Chicago
August top 5: Western Michigan, Loyola-Chicago, Canisius, Northern Illinois, Niagara
September top 5: Same

Kyle Kapp, PG

No love for Kapp this month either. The four Cali schools continue to show interest, but none of them are really stepping up to the plate with anything serious at this point.

July top 5: Cal Poly, Long Beach St, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Weber St
August top 5: UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, Long Beach St., Weber St
September top 5: Same

Dan Barile, C

Not much action for Barile either. Vermont continues to remain the leader.

July top 5: Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford, Vermont
August top 5: Vermont, Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford
September top 5: Same

... To Be Continued! ...

Since we're mostly lower ranked recruits, early on we should see a lot of lower tier schools. If you don't early commit, we may see some larger schools dip down in the later months looking to fill their last spot or two, at least the top half of recruits or so.

02-10-2004, 04:56 AM
The remaining nine guys once again sat around (im)patiently awaiting the early signing period. Hopefully things will pick up for these guys a little bit, or else you may already be looking at the school you are walking on to as your #1 option!

October marks the first month where recruits can be offered scholarships, so we will get a fair idea which players will be the early commitments this season.

If a school on the player's top 5 list has offered them a scholarship, it will have an asterisk next to it.

Kyle Smith, SF

It's clear that Dayton liked what they saw last month in Smith (and vice versa), as a scolarship was sent his way. Marist ranks second, with Boston College a big name addition to his scholarship offers. Illinois-Chicago also came forward with an offer, but it's doubtful that Smith will go that direction. This should come down to Dayton and Boston College.

July top 5: Central Conn, Boston U., Albany, New Hampshire, Lehigh
August top 5: Central Conn, Siena, Detroit, Maryland, Iona
September top 5: Marist, Virginia Tech, Massachusetts, Boston College, Dayton
October top 5: Dayton*, Marist*, Boston College*, Massachusetts, Illinois-Chicago*

Peregrine Falcon, PF

A pretty familiar picture for Falcon, with McNeese State jumping up his preference list the only major change. Still, three scholarship offers gives him some choices. Duqesne would have to be the favourite right now, unless McNeese State can make another big push.

July top 5: South Carolina, Charlotte, Winthrop, Appalachian State, UAB
August top 5: Charlotte, Duquesne, Davidson, Pennsylvania, Memphis
September top 5: Duquesne, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan, McNesse St, Charlotte
October top 5: Duqesne*, McNeese St.*, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan*, Charlotte

Mike Tokunaga, PF

Mike finally gets some attention, with Evansville and McNeese State both showing him some interest. No scholarship offers as yet, but things are looking up for Mike after a couple of quiet months.

July top 5: Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois, Boston U., East Tenn State.
August top 5: same
September top 5: same
October top 5: Evansville, McNeese St., Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois

Jeeber D. Mack, PF

Well, UTEP shoot right back up in front to Jeeber's relief, with Texas Southern starting to falter. Denver also moves up a place, and Jeeber decides a couple of years in the Air Force is looking a little better than a Grambling offer. Still no scholarships as yet, but Jeeber can remain pretty confident.

July top 5: UTEP, Texas Southern, Grambling, Denver, Air Force
August top 5: Texas Southern, Denver, UTEP, Grambling, Air Force
September top 5: Texas Southern, UTEP, Denver, Grambling, Air Force
October top 5: UTEP, Denver, Texas Southern, Air Force, Grambling

John Galt, C

Galt must've been very happy when he openned the letter box and saw scholarship offers from all 5 of his top schools this month. Wagner remains the clear leader at this point, trailed very closely by Manhattan and Monmouth.

July top 5: Columbia, Wagner, Manhattan, Stony Brook, Fairleigh Dickinson
August top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Columbia
September top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Colgate
October top 5: Wagner*, Manhattan*, Monmouth*, Colgate*, Fairleigh Dickinson*

Colton Mayes, PG

Alcorn State made some progress with Mayes this month, leaping ahead of Grambling and Western Illinois. Mercer are still Mayes' top pick at this point, but no scholarship is on the table at this point.

July top 5: Mercer, Western Illinois, Grambling, Alcorn St., UMKC
August top 5: Same
September top 5: Same
October top 5: Mercer, Alcorn St., Grambling, Western Illinois, UMKC

Rick Jolley, PF

Once again it appears as though teams are waiting to see how their other choices pan out before they offer anything to Jolley. He looks like he could wind up a solid contributer for a team like Western Michigan though, so I don't think it'll be long until he starts fielding offers.

July top 5: Canisius, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Niagara, Loyola-Chicago
August top 5: Western Michigan, Loyola-Chicago, Canisius, Northern Illinois, Niagara
September top 5: Same
October top 5: Same

Kyle Kapp, PG

Some reshuffling in Kapp's top 5, but no scholarship offers as yet.

August top 5: UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, Long Beach St., Weber St
September top 5: Same
October top 5: UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Long Beach St., Cal Poly, Weber St

Dan Barile, C

Siena showed some interest this month in the big guy, but Vermont still remains the clear leader. No scholarship offers as yet.

July top 5: Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford, Vermont
August top 5: Vermont, Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford
September top 5: Same

They say no news is good news, but I bet our unlucky 9 don't feel that way right now. All is still quite on the recruiting front for these guys, but like I've been saying the past few months, that should change as the higher notch recruits begin signing.

With the season just about to get underway, we've reached the Early Signing period. We had three players recieve offers last month (Kyle Smith, Peregrine Falcon & John Galt), and will shortly find out which players made a decision, and which players recieved offers coming in to November.

If a school on the player's top 5 list has offered them a scholarship, it will have an asterisk next to it.

Kyle Smith, SF

Neither Boston College nor Marist gained any ground on Dayton this month for Smith, who has decided to continue to review his options.

July top 5: Central Conn, Boston U., Albany, New Hampshire, Lehigh
August top 5: Central Conn, Siena, Detroit, Maryland, Iona
September top 5: Marist, Virginia Tech, Massachusetts, Boston College, Dayton
October top 5: Dayton*, Marist*, Boston College*, Massachusetts, Illinois-Chicago*
November top 5: Dayton*, Marist*, Boston College*, Illinois-Chicago*, Massachusetts

Peregrine Falcon, PF

Peregrine remains on the fence between Duqesne and McNeese St. He may want to hurry up his decision however, with Western Michigan withdrawing it's scholarship offer.

July top 5: South Carolina, Charlotte, Winthrop, Appalachian State, UAB
August top 5: Charlotte, Duquesne, Davidson, Pennsylvania, Memphis
September top 5: Duquesne, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan, McNesse St, Charlotte
October top 5: Duqesne*, McNeese St.*, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan*, Charlotte
November top 5: Duqesne*, McNeese St.*, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Western Michigan

Mike Tokunaga, PF

No scholarship offers, but Evansville and McNeese St. kept up their recruiting efforts. Austin Peay is making a late challenge as well, and could win out if they are willing to offer a scholarship.

July top 5: Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois, Boston U., East Tenn State.
August top 5: same
September top 5: same
October top 5: Evansville, McNeese St., Cal State Fullerton, Central Conn., Western Illinois
November top 5: Evansville, McNeese St., Austin Peay, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois St.

Jeeber D. Mack, PF

No change for Jeeber this month. No scholarship offers, but UTEP continues to impress.

July top 5: UTEP, Texas Southern, Grambling, Denver, Air Force
August top 5: Texas Southern, Denver, UTEP, Grambling, Air Force
September top 5: Texas Southern, UTEP, Denver, Grambling, Air Force
October top 5: UTEP, Denver, Texas Southern, Air Force, Grambling
November top 5: Same

John Galt, C - Committed to Wagner.

And we have our first signee! John Galt has accepted Wagner Universities offer of a scholarship. Wagner were a favourite from the beginning, so it does not come as a large surprise.

July top 5: Columbia, Wagner, Manhattan, Stony Brook, Fairleigh Dickinson
August top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Columbia
September top 5: Wagner, Manhattan, Monmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Colgate
October top 5: Wagner*, Manhattan*, Monmouth*, Colgate*, Fairleigh Dickinson*
November top 5: Wagner*, Manhattan*, Monmouth*, Colgate*, Fairleigh Dickinson*

Colton Mayes, PG

Mayes didn't garner much attention last month, with no schools making any progress nor any scholarships, so he'll just have to sit back and wait for the high-tier guys to dissapear.

July top 5: Mercer, Western Illinois, Grambling, Alcorn St., UMKC
August top 5: Same
September top 5: Same
October top 5: Mercer, Alcorn St., Grambling, Western Illinois, UMKC
November top 5: Same

Rick Jolley, PF - Comitted to Niagara.

Signee #2! Niagara had always been hanging around the bottom of Jolley's top 5, but rather than risk waiting to see which other offers came up, Jolley decided to accept the first one that came his way.

July top 5: Canisius, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Niagara, Loyola-Chicago
August top 5: Western Michigan, Loyola-Chicago, Canisius, Northern Illinois, Niagara
September top 5: Same
October top 5: Same
November top 5: Niagara*, Western Michigan, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Illinois

Kyle Kappe, PG

Once again, just some slight reshuffling in Kappe's top 5 this month. UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside continue to fight it out for #1 spot on his list, but still no scholarships.

July top 5: Cal Poly, Long Beach St, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Weber St
August top 5: UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, Long Beach St., Weber St
September top 5: Same
October top 5: UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Long Beach St., Cal Poly, Weber St
November top 5: UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Long Beach St., Cal Poly, Weber St

Dan Barile, C

Vermonth and Siena still top Barile's list, but slots #3 through #5 introduce some new schools. I wouldn't imagine a scholarship offer is too far away from Dan, considering talented 7 footers are a very desired commodity in this league.

July top 5: Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford, Vermont
August top 5: Vermont, Holy Cross, Siena, Albany, Hartford
September top 5: Same
October top 5: Vermont, Siena, Holy Cross, Albany, Hartford
November top 5: Vermont, Siena, Northeastern, Wagner, Brown

You could say that. The past two weeks we've been in the midst of both replacing a faulty production server as well as implementing a new production system. Monday is the go-live date for both, so no more 16 hour days for me hopefully, and I'll be able to go back to providing regular updates to this, as well as playing through my Boston University dynasty which has been severely neglected the past couple of weeks.

I will, however, promise an update when I get home from work tonight.

If a school on the player's top 5 list has offered them a scholarship, it will have an asterisk next to it.

Kyle Smith, SF - Commited to Dayton

Well Kyle, our pint-sized SF, finally made up his decision, and it was no great shock. Dayton had been his #1 school for some time, but he had some difficulty bringing him self to sign the papers, perhaps because of Boston College's late challenge? Still, the Flyers came away with their #1 target, and we'll see how they end up using this top 100 recruit.

Peregrine Falcon, PF - Committed to McNeese St

Mike Tokunaga, PF

Austin Peay shot right up Mike's list, but still no offers. Shouldn't be long now.

Jeeber D. Mack, PF - Commited to Texas Southern

John Galt, C - Committed to Wagner.

Colton Mayes, PG

A good amount of activity for Mayes this month, with Arkansas St showing some heavy interest. The rest of the schools pretty much held steady.

Kyle Kappe, PG

A few changes amongst the bottom feeders of Kappe's top 5, but UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara still appear to have the lead.

January top 5: UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Idaho St., Loyola Marymount

Dan Barile, C - Committed Manhattan

Cleary sick of waiting for Vermont, Barile didn't pass up on Manhattan's offer. The Manhattan Jasper's are in the midst of what looks to be a losing season, and won't return any starters in their frontcourt next season, so Barile should find time next season if he isn't red-shirted.

Kyle Smith, SF - Commited to Dayton

Peregrine Falcon, PF - Committed to McNeese St

Mike Tokunaga, PF - Commited to Steston

Stetson's offer came in, and Mike jumped at the chance, after being forced to sit around for months with no love. A few new faces and a couple of familiar ones continued to express interest, but Mike was after a free trip to school, and he got it.

Colton Mayes, PG - Commited to Western Illinois

Western Illinois have been in it since the beginning and finally this month forked up the scholarship that Mayes had been craving. Kansas St also mounted a last minute bid, which would have led to a big conference for Mayes, but only Western Illinois came through with an offer.

I would love to see him walk on at Tennessee, and then have Tennessee's top 3 SGs all graduate/declare in the same year. We could have the follow up to Ardent's walk-on dynasty :)

That would be excellent. I'm disappointed to not get a scholarship again. :)

Ah well. Go VOLS!

Do we actually walk on to schools? If so, MAKE me walk on to UT. :)

Some players do walk on to random schools (based on school prestige and recruit ranking I'd suspect), others dissapear off the face off the earth. For those players that do dissapear, I was going to 'force' them on to the #1 school on their list at the end of April. So if you don't walk on somewhere automatically, I'll be sure to chuck you on Tennessee :)

I'll post the list of who signed/walked-on where tomorrow. I've just finished moving house and am currently waiting for my internet connection at my new place to get installed, which should be happening tomorrow afternoon.

This dynasty has taken two months and still hasn't gotten through recruiting. To get through our four year careers is going to take a decade.

Guys if you haven't seen it mentioned in any of the threads on here or the FBCB site I've had no net access at home for the past couple of weeks and I'm not sure when that's going to happen as getting the cable guys to come out after working hours or on the weekend is proving tough and I can't take a day off work for the time being.

Not that I'm really broken up or anything, but perhaps if you have the time to play the games, you could do a report and then put the text onto a diskette and post before you leave work for the day or something?

Not a big deal, just maybe a suggestion.
