I'm auto-promoting to IV this week...thing this guy should stick around for the next season, or should I go for someone else?

A sympathetic guy who is calm and honest.
Has weak experience and weak leadership abilities.

I've heard that experience and leadership mean nothing for coaches. Is this true?

experience means something when turning a player into a coach...other than that it doesn't have any effect (i am pretty sure about that)
leadership does help with maintaining team spirit...but unlessyou have a ton of money I would wait to upgrade his leadership.

Do you mean upgrade as in get a new coach, or can you actually upgrade coaching characteristics now?

No, you'd need to hire a completely new coach. Cant train coaches up :(
