Here is a new chance for you to be the Champ.
For the better part of a year I ran a boxing dynasty:
Boxing Anyone (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/showthread.php?t=10284)
FOFC Boxing Beings (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/showthread.php?t=10221)
Boxing - Round 2 (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/showthread.php?t=12630)
Boxing - Round 3 (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/showthread.php?t=16191)
I also used the same Boxing Engine (WeBL) to perform a boxing tournament (FOFC Boxing Tournament (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/showthread.php?t=12386)). The reactions to the boxing tournament were much more positive and interactive than the regular dynasty. During the Thanksgiving and Chrismas Holiday the Dynasty was put on hold with the promise to start it up again. However, through much tought and discussion with JAG, who helped me immensely with the regular dynasty and won the tournament, we've decided - rather than restarting the dynasty and running fights for the 4 to 5 people who were participating, we would investigate the level of interest in starting a private league on the WeBL site. This way all fights would be between FOFC members - rather than unknown gyms (of diverse ability levels). Titles would be awarded, rankings could be posted, and I'm guessing the interest level would go up.
There are some ground rules we would have to establish. Like everyone fights in the heavyweight division (at least to start),.each participant creates X number of fighters, etc. JAG and I would create some drones to round out the competition, but in order for a private league to work, we would need a significant number of Board Members to participate.
If you are interested, and you're wondering what you would have to do:
We aren't completely sure yet - but we have a pretty good idea
Some Things for Consideration include: (you can get more information on how some of these things are done, by checking the Tournament link provided above)
Create your fighter(s) - This is simply a matter of specifying height, body type (thin, heavy, etc), and placing X number of points in the different skills (we can help you here - if you tell us what type of fighter you want we can tell you were to put points)
Building Fight Plans - Here we have some versatility. There are existing templates that can be used, and JAG and I could create other templates to choose from. OR you could design your own with the easy fight creator or used advanced code and create your own. We would need to decided (all I'll let participants voice their opinion here) if we want to limit the abilty to create from scratch so the playing field is a little more even.
Select Training Style - prior to each fight, you'll need to report which skill you'll be training.
It sounds more difficult than it actually is. Anyone who participated in the tournament run, will have a good idea of what is required. Only this time your participation won't be over after 1 loss. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF THE FOFC INTERACTIVE BOXING LEAGUE PLEASE SIGN UP - creating this private league will take some work and we want to guage the level of interest before putting for the effort required to make the league a reality.
JAG has done most of the investigation into the private league, so he may be able to offer more details on the subject
