Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Somewhere I read the world would come to an end when MIJB would win IWS.
That happened twice in world history.
There is no reason to fear for the world to end.

According to a radio show I was listening to on the way home last week (around 5:30am), the world will end within a week of a space launch being delayed by a meteor shower. This is the sign that a freaking huge solar flare will snuff us all out in short order. To save yourself, you are to proceed to the nearest crop circle and be standing there when the flare hits, preferably wearing at least SPF 30. According to this guy, aliens are marking out 'safe zones' where the flare won't be deadly.

Those aliens, always looking out for us. It's so nice.

Wish I could remember the name of the guy, he said he'd made a DVD that would fill you in on all the details and gave comprehensive directions to all the crop circles where the parties will happen.

I thought the earth was supposed to end in about 4 billion years when the Sun goes supernova and envelopes us.

Luckily, that is well after we are allowed access to the Vorlon homeworld, and have thusly advanced ourselves to a higher form of evolution, with the technology to go with.

After the Earth goes, then we're good to police the galaxy for a few hundred milllenia.

Art Bell used to be the overnight show on the local talk radio station (I don't think he' still on, but he might be). I'd never had a reason to be up that early to listen to him, but one morning, the local 6am-10am guy must have called in sick or something, because at 7:30 I'm driving to work and listening to Art Bell's show. And that was some of the most ridiculous, but interesting, talk radio I've ever heard.

I wish they'd run that stuff during the day - I'd actually listen to it. Then again, his audience probably is only awake at night.

I couldn't really read him in the short while I listened to his show - does he buy into that crap, or does he just listen, nod his head in agreement, and play along for the entertainment of it?

He makes an amazing arguement when you've been up for 28 straight hours. A very captivating speaker, though after you go to sleep and wake up, it just doesn't seem quite as, well, obvious and to the point.
