I apparently don't see one, so here it is.
Many interesting match-ups today, with GB/Philly as the biggest one.

aye- its just every time the D line thinks its collapsed the pocket around him- he's gone. I mean, how on earth are you supposed to defend that- add an extra lineman ?

Correct. I know, it's kind of goofy to give your kicker a stand ovation before a kick, but it was kind of funny to watch them standing and cheering.

To throw a TD pass to Torry Holt, in case Bears fans are watching updates while suffering through Chad Hutchinson.

Palmer just throws a BOMB to Chad Johnson for 51 yards, yet again we are in their territory, maybe we can make something of it.
4th down, and again we'll try a FG. This time Shayne will drain it, he's very good, 53 was just too long for him. 41 yarder right down the middle. 3-3.
Palmer has looked good, despite this last clearly overthrown ball on 3rd and 3. 13 of 16, 129 yards.

Since I've only seen him in one game all season, I have no idea. I would say he must look real bad in practice. The fact that the Falcons rarely use more than two WR (heck, they rarely use two WR) doesn't give him much of a shot at playing.

The referees in this Jets/Texans game are fuckin horrid. They called intentional grounding on a play where Johnson and Carr got mixed up and Carr threw to where nobody was and a few plays before that they called a block in the back on the Jets and then picked up the flag and called no penalty which cost the Texans badly. the last 3 plays have taken about 6 hours thanks to refs having no clue what the fuck they're doing.

Make that 3 big plays for Housh! TD! Bengals lead 24-23!!!!! We have rallied with 3 TD this quarter! Yay! No game other than football messes with my emotions like this!

Funny section from the AP report of the Pats-Browns:
"When Cleveland's players arrived for the game, they found T-shirts draped on their locker room chairs that said, ``I Got Your Back.'' They were given the wrong size, though, forcing the Browns to work the room to find one that fit."

I'm with you, they have been pretty overlooked. I think it's because there are some other huge stories out there:
- the continued dominance of the Patriots
- Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers
- The Eagles seemingly having made a step to the next level
- Peyton Manning just terminating the opponent on a weekly basis
Schott. is a lock for coach of the year, but the 'Bolts (and Drew Brees) aren't getting enough publicity, IMHO.

1. Impressive, yes; historic? It's up there with the runs the Packers, Dolphins, or Steelers made in the 60s and 70s. Their place in history would be cemented with a SB win this season.
3. Probably true but I imagine some Philly fans aren't buying it until the NFC championship game.
4. True but what did all of those points get the Vikings in 1998? Or Marino in 1984? The Colts, like the Eagles, have to win the SB or at least be there in order to meet expectations.

Be careful, you might just have answered why the Chargers aren't getting any play right now.

That's all true, but this year's Super Bowl has not been played yet. These are the stories of right now. That was my point.

I hate instant replay. And Theisman ads nothing to this telecast. The main pbp guy is okay, maguire sucks, and Theisman is horrid. Every once in awhile they could just shut up.

Byron Leftwich reminds me of Stan Humphries who just loved to step into tackles to throw the ball. Tough stuff but it certainly shortens your NFL longevity.

I used to not have an opinion about these guys. It is the first game I have really watched since it is the first Steelers game this year. They have been awful. Missed names, bad analysis.

Let's go Fred Taylor..... I hate fantasy football, and I mean that in the best way possible....

It's interesting to see if Ben can get the team into field goal position.. well that pass almost has them there.

Um... why not kneel in the middle of the field after the clock runs down and leave them with 3 seconds left?
Edit: Instead, it's near the hash and there's 20 seconds left after the attempt.

With no Time outs left, it is easier to get the kicking team out there. Also, Cowher is a big fan of kicking on 3rd down in case something goes wrong.
I would have run the ball, even with a qb sneak and then spike it.

Man, that was a fun game. I don't really care about the three dufuses (dufii?) in the booth because at least they're having fun with it. I get much more offended by listening to Madden or Vitale or Walton who want to project that they know what they're talking about by substituting loud volume for substance when it's clearly not the case.

I slap all of you 'Sunday Night guys' haters (sterlingice is ok)! I LOVE the Sunday Night Football team, who are by far my favorite announcers. They are perhaps the only team that are unafraid of having opinions and having fun up in the booth. Give me them over any other team out there any day of the week and twice and Sundays.

You surely cannot be serious. If not for the bad delay, i would have listened to the radio, and watched the game on mute.

If their 'opinions' are constantly flip-flopping and kissing the ass of every star player, then yes, they speak their mind quite frequently.

So, I guess the Bengals will be 8-8 again this year, with New England and Philly still left on the road. They needed to have at least 8 wins by now to have any chance at the playoffs.
At least Palmer is finally starting to look like he has a clue out there. He has been terrific the last 2 weeks.

The Dallas guy touched it, but the ball was not dead, it was a "free run for the Seattle player". I'm confused.

Yeah, you rarely see that come into play.
When the ball is punted and the kicking team touches it first, it's essentially a "free play" for the return team. They can only benefit by picking it up and trying to run with it.
