Now I finally mustered the courage to ask her out last night for Lunch tomorrow. She said yes and Niw I 've got a question: Is it proper since, this is Valentines day weekend to present her with Roses on the first date?
(Ive always presented girls with flowers on the first date but its the first time i've had a date on V DAy week end.

Roses on the first date are always acceptable, regardless of what holiday is near. If you're worried about the holiday association stay away from red roses, and pick a more fun color like pink or purple.

I've heard from a lot of playas-- and have agreed more and more as I've gotten older-- that one shouldn't make ostentatious outlays of cash when first going out with a woman.

Update : The date went off w/o a hitch. We spent lunch talking about her life and a little about myself. After lumch we walked around the venetian and talked soome more. We then proceeded to tal=ke the gondola ride and just stared at each other for a while. Then
like a true nerd that I am I had to tell her that I had Pharmacology class at 1800 and would have to take her home.
