Sorry if this is a question that's been asked before. I am searching the forum but with little luck so far.

I am running a multiplayer league and we're approaching the end of our first season. To test the way the multiplayer game works between the superbowl and free agency, I have been using a test league to check out the staff hiring, stadium changes and franchise player bits.

Here's my problem. As commish I click "End Season", I then export. As a participant I click begin staff hiring and make a bid (I also make a turf renovation request). I export the stage file, but when I go to import the stage file as a commish it tells me there are no import files in the correct state.

Why is this happening?

Thanks in advance

That's odd. It sounds like you're doing everything right. I'd try it again and make sure you aren't goofing some minute detail, like forgetting to put that last export in the import directory before importing.

Thanks, I've tried ending the 1st stage and doing the participant bit for the second stage - same problem.

This is going to cause significant problems for my league if we can't do this. I will try and play around with it again.

Thanks for trying.

This happens when the clients are not using the correct export from the commish. They're exports are from the wrong commish export (wrong stage, wrong league, etc).

Thing is I'm testing it so I'm both commish and participant. This is driving me nuts. We've done every other import/export fine, never had a file not work.

Help me out, do I export the game file before or after clicking "Begin Staff Hiring"? Even if I've messed this bit up I should still be able to submitt stage files for the 2nd and 3rd round!?!

Sorry if I'm being a noob

1) End the season
2) Save
3) Open the game up as a participant
4) Make whatever staff changes and export
5) Move the export you just made from your export folder to your import folder
6) Open the game as commish and import

Should be that easy.

1) End the season
1b) Click Begin Staff Hiring
2) Save & Export
3) Open the game up as a participant
4) Make whatever staff changes and export
5) Move the export you just made from your export folder to your import folder
6) Open the game as commish and import
Fixed

Hopefully Skydog won't box you for asking a question before reading the instructions ;).

Thanks for the help fellas, problem is not with this stage of the game but the fact that for some reason the test league I'm running won't import any stage files even though I'm doing things exactly as with the real league we're running.

I'm definately being a noob.

Sorry sorted this now. I took over commishing when the game had already started, so when I set up my test league I didn't check the radio buttons to have the test teams human controlled.

RTFI next time

Gotta learn somehow sometime.

Your league have a website so we can follow it?

Not yet I'm afraid. We have a couple of techy type guys who will hopefully be able to knock something up soon. I'll let you know then if you want.

Whoa, I think they were talking about creating a website not impregnating someone.
