Since I've moved, I have not been able to connect to the server at Absolute Poker. My error message reads like this:
The connection can not be established between your computer and our servers. Most likely, your firewall is not allowing you to connect.
I am not using a router and am connecting via a comcast cable modem.
I am using XP and in the security center the firewall is on, but I have selected off in the windows firewall page and have selected AP as an exception as well. I thought I might need to open a port. AP sent me the info and it reads like this:
You may have requested this information if you use a Router,if you are on a
Local Area Network or if you are behind a Proxy Firewall.
Most routers and wireless routers have built in hardware firewalls.
Your problem could be that the router or wireless router is blocking some of the
Ports that Absolute Poker needs to use to access the internet.
Unless you have a good understanding of what to do with these numbers, you will
most likely have to get an IT professional to set up your Firewall with this
information.
These are the ports that your firewall needs to have open for Absolute Poker to
operate correctly.
6980 - 7200 (the entire range), 8022, 8810, 8812, 8814, 8820, 8830, 8840, 8000,
8010, 8020 and 8040
IP range 66.48.48.1 through 66.48.48.255
Sincerely,
JD
I don't know what to do with these numbers. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Or if anyone else has an idea to fix this problem I'd be forever grateful.
