Check out Harpoon's brewery. They have a bachelor party "tour" where you stand around and drink as much as possible for two hours. It's a good warm up for the night. I'm not 100% sure unlimited beer is offered to the public (an employee friend set us up), but I'm pretty sure they do some kind of bachelor party thing.
There's also a paintball place around Boston somewhere, if that's your thing.

you guys should just do a nice manly dinner at a steakhouse and just go to a bar.
my friend just had a bachelor party sans strippers/fun girls. just wanted to do a drink-a-thon in one bar. whoopie. he was adamant about there being no surprises. meanwhile his fiance went to South Beach for her bacheloretter party. as much as i tried to tell him his idea was bad and he'd regret it years from now he didn't want to listen. so we did it his way and now his party is known as the worst bachelor party we've all went to. you can lead a horse to water...

It really doesn't matter what the groom wants. Bachelor parties are for the his friends as far as I'm concerned. Get strippers. Tell him to close his eyes if he wants. Plus, he's probably just saying it so he looks good to the bride. If you get them anyway, then he can just say, "it's their fault, I told them I didn't want them."
Trust me, once he's had a few drinks, he'll be very happy with the decision. Plus, it will make him feel better because he had nothing to do with it. Even so, if he doesn't like it -- too bad.

After the guy hugs you and says thanks man because I must have been smokin' something when I told you no strippers, you will be the BEST friend/best man ever. Plus, if he doesn't, who cares. I mean as I said he can close his eyes or leave the room for 30 minutes. And no, the bachelor party is for everyone that attends. No, not at all. It's throwing a party for someone with food/gifts he likes, but is afraid to say so.
If you're wrong, what's the harm. Again, you can still do everything the guy wants to do during the evening. If he truly is not into the strippers (highly doubtful), then he can sit back and simply enjoy his friends having a good time for an hour out of the evening.

you're wrong. the bachelor party is for however the groom wants to be sent off. if you're on deathrow and you request a grilled cheese sandwich as your last meal you're not gonna get filet mignon cuz someone thinks your request is lame. you're gonna get grilled cheese. same w/ a bachelor party. if that's how he wants to go out then that's his prob and it'll be for him to regret years later. you can't force fun on people, they gotta want it. especially when the party is in their honor. just gotta grin and bear it. personally i'd make the groom decide what he wants to do since he's not requesting a normal bachelor party.

I think the one distinction (for this guy's case, the way it was presented) is the whole religious factor. If the groom isn't bullshitting when it comes to that, I say pass on the strippers.
But I'd say that most times the groom says he doesn't want strippers, its cause his future wife is giving him shit for it.

Yeah, sure. These are the types of bachelor parties where you turn around after an hour and everyone has slipped out the back door or "accidentally" got separated from the group. As a friend, it is your job, no, it is your duty to make sure your buddy's bachelor party is not lame. That trumps everything. End of story.

I'm glad you're not planning my bachelor party.
I would be super pissed if I asked for no strippers and I got forced to them anyways. You don't just "leave the room for 30 minutes" from your own bachelor party.. .this would ruin it and you'd be screwed...
If it is because of the fiance that you are saying no strippers, then it is VERY easy to give the "wink wink, nudge nudge" or tell the best man, "ok, just don't tell her" or whatever..
Your stance seriously to me is about the rudest and most disrespectful thing for a friend to do/say.

I guess we won't be friends. I like to party with mine.
I find punching a friend in the face, stealing his money or running of credits in online poker, sleeping with his fiance, calling his girlfriend a slut, overstaying in his apartment, borrowing his car and not re-filling it with gas, refusing to drive him to the airport, refusing to dance with the ugly girl as wingman, etc. to be much ruder and disrespectful. But apparently you think it's having strippers at his bachelor party.

i know for my bachelor party all i requested was that i not be the center of attention. it didn't turn out that way and i wasn't able to 100% enjoy my party to the fullest extent cuz i don't like surprises and i was put in a situation where i was the center of attention. i don't know about you, but being forced to strip down to my underwear (thank God i didn't listen to my best man who told me not to wear underwear) while covorting with 2 naked women in the center of a room with all my friends sitting semi-circle around me just isn't my idea of fun. i mean, naked girls are naked girls so i had a nice time, but it crossed over the boundary of what i found fun. i wasn't able to get hard cuz i was like "this isn't cool, this ain't my idea of fun". still, among my friends my party is listed as being tied for the best bachelor party (which is saying a lot cuz the other top bachelor party was in vegas). beetlejuice from Howard Stern was at my party.

i understand where you're coming from, but some people aren't so "go with the flow", some people would actually get *really* pissed if you disobeyed their wishes. some people, like me, also realize that if someone is paying in excess of $350 for my party they deserve some level of return on their investment as well. not everyone is like me, however. you know your friend best, though, so only you could make that call.

I just think that if you're throwing a party FOR someone, the least you should do is respect the wishes of the person you're celebrating, regardless of his reason. If the man doesn't want strippers, then you shouldn't have strippers.
To each his own, though. I know that if I ask my best man to not bring strippers and he does anyway, I'm not gonna be a happy camper, because that shows my best man doesn't give a crap about what I say.

I find the whole strip club scene amusing, so it's fun on a schadenfreude level.
I've never found it erotic, though. It's just kind of like "Ho-hum, random boobs and hoonanny. Dark stage and psychadelic lighting to hide just how unattractive most these girls are."

Get a bunch of pix of him growing up, hanging with his buds, going to school, playing sports, playing the flute, whatever, etc. and import them into a movie program (MS Moviemaker, whatever) and add some kickass music. Make sure the pix are in chronological order. Get a projector to attach to a laptop and play the movie that night sometime. You can also play it again at the reception. Guaranteed that will move him.

I think a couple people have mentioned that this guy will regret not wanting strippers in the years to come. Why do you guys think that, 10 years down the road, he would think back and say "man..i really wish i had seen those strippers that one time.."? It just doesn't seem like something you would look back on and regret. Is anyone here in that situation? Didn't want strippers, but regretted it later?

Anyone that would regret not having strippers at a bachelor party years down the road has bigger problems to worry about. If you want strippers at your party, great, be my guest. If your buddy specifically says no strippers and you do get strippers anyway then you are a tool and not a friend I would want.

Just did this for a bachelor's party a few weeks ago. Worked out great. Most important thing is to make sure any areas that would be exposed at the wedding are well protected, the neck and head especially. I ended up with a decent welt on my forehead just below the hairline.

I was one of those grooms that requested no strippers for my bachelor party and my friends respected the request. You don't NEED strippers at a bachelor party, and I've never regretted not having them.
One of my friends made the same request for his party, but the Best Man got a stripper anyway. The groom had zero fun even though he tried to fake it for the sake of everyone else. The night got a whole lot more fun after the stripper left and the party moved on to the bars downtown.

I had a typical bachelor party despite my protestations. I suggested we do dinner and a Marlins game, then go to a bunch of bars, but no, my buddies decided I needed to go to a few strip clubs. I had been to a few strip clubs previously as a non-participant, so it wasn't new to me. I wasn't (and am not) opposed to them for any particular reason - they just don't do it for me (this kinda dovetails with my voting pattern in the Hot or Not stuff, actually).
Anyway, I had fun just because of the group of people I was with, but the strippers weren't all that enjoyable. I'd have been much happier catching a baseball game, though.

See these guys who are about to get married should not get to vote on whether or not there are strippers. Having not been married yet, they cannot fully appreciate the value of a woman who gets naked WITHOUT COMPLAINING.
I say no strippers if he doesn't want them. My brachelors party two years ago had no strippers as it's not something interesting for or my friends at all. And i'm far from being religious, it's just that i don't see the fun on them.
On mine my best 14 friends and me travelled to a nice city in the south of Spain (Granada). We rented some hotel rooms for 3 days and we went our for eating, drinking and bars the full 3 days. Of course Spain is so fun and you can go out for eating drinking and partying everyday in the big cities from the morning to the following day. We enjoyed it a lot and we never missed strippers. We just wanted to have party like we had when we were younger, all 15 friends together.
Again i don't see where is the fun on watching a nude girl dancing for money with all your friends salivating or looking at how you are supossed to get hot with tons of eyes over you, how do you get hot in front of all your friends joking at you? knowing that the girl is acting? knowing that you can't even touch her? and if it's not about getting hot, then, what is it all about? about everybody making fun of how stupid you look? Not my thing.
When i visited Miami for business a couple of years ago, i was brought to a famous tittie club there like if it was the best thing to do. The waitress were strippers and all them where in topless, same about some dancers and i saw there everybody pretty excited while i thought it was pretty stupid. You can watch tons of girls in topless in every Spanish beach in summer, nothing really extraordinary for me to watch a couple of tits.
I enjoy watching a nude girl in my room, we both alone and knowing that there will be more than dancing and watching, that is exciting for me, and not a stripper dancing and acting.

I've never understood the allure of being served food by someone naked. There's a place just south of Gainesville on I-75 that is nothing but a truck stop with naked chicks serving food. That's disgusting. What, do they wear hair nets down there, too?

Hehe i was serious, i have heard it's not legal/allowed in USA beaches, but it is in Spain so it's usual to see tons of young women in topless at the beach. Sex and nudity are not that taboo here in Spain as it is in the US (for what i have read and seen there).
