Sorry, I'm still in. Must have missed this recently.

I think one of the things we wanted to fix was roster size? I seem to remember people getting tired of drafting their 15th and 16th players last season. There was discussion of using two QB's (that I personally didn't care for), potentially changing the scoring system, and possibly adding a keeper for the upcoming season for a rookie that I thought sounded interesting.

Here is everything I have from last season. If anyone can think of any more, feel free to add them.
1. Smaller Rosters. The bench spots will be reduced from 8 to 6.
2. Rookie Keeper. Every team can keep an additional keeper at any position, as long as the player was a rookie in the previous season.
3. 2 QB's. Every team must start 2 QB's. (If this passes, we will consider modifying QB scoring.)
4. Playoff Teams. The two wildcard spots will be awarded to the teams with the best records, regardless of conference.

As a new league member, I will abstain from voting unless asked to do so.
Tentative schedule for 2008:
July 14th - All rule discussion is concluded. All members will have one week to vote on any rule proposals.
July 21st - Announcentment of rule changes.
August 8th - All keepers are due, leaving five days before the draft to set a preference list.
August 13th - Draft starts with a 12 hour limit per pick. The draft clock will be active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST).
August 20th - Draft continues with normal draft rules... Two hours per pick with the clock active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST). You are encouraged to setup a draft list as the Sportsline "robot" tends to favor QB's.
Any problems with this?

a couple of thoughts.
Would the rookie keeper come into play this year meaning you can protect a rookie from last year starting now ( I'm looking at you Adrian Peterson) or will that actualy start with next years keepers?
I would tink if we go with 2 quarterbacks starting we should keep rosters at 8 reserves.

3. 2 QB's. Every team must start 2 QB's. (If this passes, we will consider modifying QB scoring.)- No, never played with this system.
4. Playoff Teams. The two wildcard spots will be awarded to the teams with the best records, regardless of conference. - Yes. I think I made the playoffs last year with a crappy record and didn't deserve to be there.

For what it's worth, neither have I. I decided I'd be kind of interested to give it a shot though.
I'm against 2 QB's because it just seems like someone is going to get screwed. Every team will need 3 QB's and with 12 teams... that would equal 36. I'd hate to lose a week because one of my QB's is on a bye week and I couldn't replace him.

Exactly. That would be horrible stuff. Also while backup RBs do get points, even on teams with great starting RBs (see Michael Turner in SD), backup QBs won't get any reps with great starting QBs who don't get hurt.

I think due to time constraints, if this league still goes on, I may have to resign. I just have too much going on in my life at the moment to pay attention to the 6 fantasy leagues I am in. My apologies all for the short notice.

Sorry for the delay. My brother is working on this. Apparently "policies have changed", so he's trying to see if he can get the league through.

Bump again. Looking at the tentative schedule from earlier this thread:
July 21st - Announcentment of rule changes. (there was no formal announcement, but from a guess it looks like yes to 6 instead of 8 bench players, yes to 1 rookie keeper (any position), no to 2 QB's, Yes to wildcard spots being awarded to the two teams with the best record regardless of conference)
August 8th - All keepers are due, leaving five days before the draft to set a preference list.
August 13th - Draft starts with a 12 hour limit per pick. The draft clock will be active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST).

First, big thanks for coming through HB. I would say:
1. Let's let TLK set up a free keeper league on Yahoo or ESPN, shame we'll lose a bit of the history of the other site, but free is nice.
2. I'd say everyone should post their keepers ASAP.
3. I don't know how scheduling would work for everyone (particularly SI as I think his access is or would be limited?), but maybe we say something like this for a draft schedule:
Friday August 22nd - Draft starts with a 12 hour limit per pick. The draft clock will be active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST).
Monday August 25th - Draft continues with normal draft rules... Two hours per pick with the clock active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST). You are encouraged to setup a draft list.
Only thing is I don't know is if we'd have the same draft setup options at Yahoo or ESPN as we have had in the past.
Callous Dowboy Keepers:
QB: Tony Romo
RB: Adrian Peterson (farewell LT, thanks for the great years)
WR: T.J. Houshmandzadeh

We can save history as Excel files as well... but not sure what good that would be.
Vic's Heroes Keepers:
QB: Drew Brees
RB: Steven Jackson
WR: Plaxico Burress

NP HB, not sure if you saw up top but even if he could get the rosters that would be great. Thanks again, hope ypo enjoyed vacation!
Thanks, Lathum. I did. I was able to "geek out" sufficiently at GenCon. I need to do that every now and then.
Let me look at this crappy team for keepers...

Shaka's Big Shooters:
QB: McNabb
RB: Lynch
WR: M. Colston
EDIT: Changed my WR from A. Johnson to Colston.
Is there any free site that will allow us to do the extended online draft... like Sportsline?

I was thinking about that, too, as Yahoo's online draft won't work the way sportsline's does. I'll see what I can dig up.
By the way, thanks HB for hooking us up!!!

From the looks of it... we have the Sportsline site through September 17th. Would anyone have a problem if we ran the draft over on Sportsline and swithed the league over to Yahoo after that?

Hmmm...no problem with that but that won't help us next year and beyond in terms of the draft.

Can someone refresh my memory on keepers? I only visited the league site a couple of times. Is it one QB, one RB and one WR for everyone?

I believe so.

Since we're getting fairly short on time, I think using the draft on the Sportsline site would probably be the way to go. We can figure out what we're doing for next year sometime between now and next year's draft.

Yes, though you can keep a TE instead of a WR if you wish.

Good point.
