From the locked thread:
Isn't it about time the Jesse Ewiak (or whatever his name was) Rule was used?
I mean, seriously. Enough's enough already.
Once upon a time, PSU had a relatively varied posting history. I think even 6 months ago you'd be hard pressed to make a good case for invoking the "Jesse Ewiak Rule" on him. However, even a cursory look at his recent posting history (especially threads started) tells a different story. I'm guessing the only thing saving PSU now is his longevity.
Yep... unless its for posters who make only liberal slanted political threads.Like Franklin and Capsicum.
It's my impression that Franklin was banned for a particularly egregious violation of the posting guidelines, although the nature of some of his postings just before that may have contributed.
Capsicum was clearly banned for posting pretty much only ad hominem attacks on board members.
I don't think either are very analogous to PSU or Jesse Ewiak, so I'm inclined to disagree with SD's retort here. However, I can't agree with ISiddiqui either - I think SD has shown a pretty even hand in boxing/banning those of any political persuasion, likely because I don't believe SD factors political persuasion much into said decisions.
Having said all that, I think, as stated above, PSU's recent history is becoming very analogous to Jesse's prior to the latter's banning. Further, PSU has ignored a number of good faith attempts by other board members to suggest ways he could advance his viewpoints without annoying people. Along those lines, I posted a summary of my thoughts here (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?p=1498339#post1498339).
Anyway, IBTL. Again.

Yeah, right. How many times have you said this before? You'll be back to post hit-and-run political troll threads in no time.
Besides, there really isn't much "commentary" in the threads you start. Based on a quick review, most are:
1. Annoying/insulting/inflammatory title
2. Brief half-sentence dig at "liberals" based on a cursory reading of the "article" you're going to quote (this part is optional).
3. An "article" quoted at length or in full from some right-wing blog.
Arguably, your posts have less original content than jbmagic's.

Formative moments in the lives of each American generation shape how they will view the world
around them. America’s next generation of adults, Gen-Y, observed the Clinton Administration,
the Columbine shooting and September 11th. These collective experiences, along with more
personal life events, sculpt a distinct world-view in this generation. The result: a generation
that loudly asserts its individualism, yet shares common views of hyper-tolerance and
community. Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, in conjunction with Polimetrix, present an
ongoing series of studies designed to understand the lives of young Americans as they make
the transition to adulthood. As this survey shows, the individualistic personal goals and dreams
of Gen-Y often clash with their values and world-view, forcing them to negotiate their principles
as they chart a path for their own future.
Generation Y’s complex bargain between goals and reality can appear at times paradoxical. As
the realities of life begin to test the values of Generation Y, they are forced to make
compromises. They are individualistic, but still want to be completely connected. They want
jobs with good money, but also want jobs they love. Gen-Yers believe college education is
important to success, but not enough by itself. They describe themselves as patriotic, but their
patriotism seems sometimes conditional, particularly when it comes to military service. With the
internet, cell phones, and PDAs, this is the most inter-connected generation in history, but
above all else, they value their privacy. As has often been the case, they present a more
progressive political outlook than older generations.

Here is my take... People can only mock views that are worth mocking for so long. Eventually they just start getting annoying. It is more annoying when one person keeps posting the same things when literally nobody else agrees (at least to the same extent).
I'm actually surprised PSUC keeps making those posts since I don't think he is getting any positive reinforcement from anyone. I would think that he would eventually get bored with the vitriol and just stop.

While we wait, more sociology:
Developing Progressive Values
Generation Y more tolerant and less judgmental than prior generations
• Tolerance and privacy trump “moral values” for Gen-Y. While September 11th may
have sparked an isolationist or anti-immigrant backlash among many Americans, Gen-Y
adopts a different view. Our youngest citizens want a more connected world in the face of
9/11 (55 percent) instead of tighter borders (44 percent). In fact, these youth support a
more open society. Clear majorities of younger Americans (58 percent) agree that the
country needs “to work harder at accepting and tolerating people who are different,
particularly gays” rather than “work harder at upholding traditional values” (42 percent).
Along with their individualism and their desire for tolerance, youth also adamantly oppose a
governmental role in personal decisions. Sixty-four percent agree that the President and
Republicans are “going too far by invading peoples’ personal lives and family decisions.”
Far fewer accept that Republicans are “trying to uphold moral values” (36 percent).
• Gen-Y no more supportive of abortion than other generations, but may be less
judgmental. Young Americans hold that abortion should remain legal by a 56 to 44 percent
margin, statistically even with the national average of 55 to 42.2 Personal exposure to
abortion informs their belief (64 percent know someone who has had an abortion), which
may not change their overall support for a woman’s right to choose, but may diminish the
judgment about abortion. In fact, 65 percent of Gen-Yers say that a woman “has her
reasons for having an abortion” and should not be judged for that decision. Only 22 percent
call abortion “immoral.”

PSU, when you post anything that someone else has written, and don't attribute it, you are indicating that it is your own thoughts from your own head. If it makes you unhappy to have people call you out on it, you should recognize that it is your responsibility to give proper credit, and have nobody to blame for the resulting fallout if you don't other than yourself. This is the same speech I used to give my Comp 101 students.
As far as your "where have I ever insulted someone here without first being insulted?" comment, I would direct you to earlier in this very thread, where you called me an ass after I pointed out that you were republishing copyrighted material without attribution, not to mention illegally.
