Hamas Mad Bombers team captain and starting forward Ricky Nash has been made expendable by stud youth pull Garrett Croft. He has been placed on the US transfer market at a starting cost of just $40,000. His player card is below.

Anyone have thoughts on pricing? I’ve found that a “solid” rating in playmaking is frequently a sought-after commodity. Having two decent complementary skills (Somylyody’s two inads) is all the better.
While I’d like to keep these guys to play (especially the younger Sahlell), I realize that my team is in a transitional period, and I’m more about cash right now than my roster. So, if I can get a good sum for these guys, I’ll probably do so… try to turn a profit, and look again to “buy low.”
Any suggestions for asking prices for this pair?

August Sahlell I would start at no less than 120,000.
Menyhért Somlyódy I would start at his value of 145,000. The reason being his age is a red flag for a lot of buyers and after he ages to 30 or 31 he should start declining. I would take the most I could out of him. You might end up with 200k off him but that would be fortunate.

I'm going to need to put a couple of players on the market soon to try to drag myself out of the muck that is DEEP debt.
Is there a day that is better or worse to put folks on the market? I mean, I know putting someone up on Saturday, generally isn't a good idea. Is there a particularly good day?
Also, do y'all know if selling during offseason hurts the final price any?

Question to you hattrick guys.
My Forward scored 4 goals in my league win Sunday, but for some reason, he was listed as the worst player on my team for the game. No offense to the sim engine, but if a guy scores 4 goals in a game, he is not the worst player out there.
Anyone else had this happen to them, I was kind of suprised.

The match engine determines the best and worst players for a team strictly by the number of stars they produce, and does not take into account goals scored and things like that. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

My team is balooning, and I'm looking to trim a little of the fat. I need some advice on pricing.

I'm fairly sure that $99K is way too much to expect from this player, but what about what range should I expect to get for this guy?

I personally wouldn't pay more than about 20K, but I'm no expert and you may find someone willing to pay more.

Ok, so I'm still pretty new, but right now I'm in the middle of a bidding war for a decent Inner Midfielder I like. First off, is he worth 45,000 US$?

Second, do you guys usually avoid bidding wars completely, or do you stay in it for a while? I'm still trying to get a feel for the market, and I have no clue as of yet.
Edit: I suck at formatting

An inner midfielder with weak playmaking? That's not good. Is there a typo in there somewhere? I just signed an arguably better, younger player for around half that price.

TredWel: I see that you've already listed Renato. I'm willing to bet you'll get more than $20,000 for him. Wingers aren't my expertise, but people are willing to pay for offensive wingers. If I had to guess, I'd say he'll fetch somewhere in the $30,000 to $50,000 range. But its always best to start the bidding too low, rather than too high. :)
Vince: Mensink is better as a winger than an inner midfielder, and I'm mildly surprised to see that he sold for $69,000. Unless he's going to be trained up as a winger, then too pricy, IMO.

I have 2 questions, how much should i try to sell this guy for:
José Ignacio Fernández
31 000 US$, 28 years, weak form
Has weak experience and solid leadership abilities
Stamina: wretched Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: wretched Passing: wretched
Winger: solid Defending: weak
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: weak
and i am in 7th place and am definately rebuilding, but should I sell my best player and if yes, how much?
Bruce Green
124 000 US$, 25 years, inadequate form
Has poor experience and weak leadership abilities
Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: solid
Winger: solid Defending: weak
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: inadequate

Well, I'm still new and don't know how quickly training works, but I figure that if I'm training midfield (playmaking), that passing etc won't go up very quickly if at all. Because of that, I'm trying to get someone with a decent rating (inadequate or passable) in passing (read somewhere that that is #2 importance for inner mids) and perhaps lower in playmaking, which I'll train.
I dropped out of the bidding around 45,000, when someone else jumped in. What do typical 18-20 yo inner mids with inadequate playmaking go for? It seems to me that I'm going to have to pay around 40,000+ for them, just cruising the transfer wire.

The 22YO won't train up that fast. For a trainee, you'd want someone younger than 20.

Thanks for the tip daed...and I'm guessing guys younger than 20 are going to be more expensive, huh? Oh well...
EDIT: Man, I have so many Hattrick questions :) Would posts on hattrick be better received (as in less annoying to non-hattrickers, not necessarily more answered) in the Dynasty forum?

Just an update (from near the top of this thread) - I got my $200,00 asking price for Somlyody... yes! That's another net gain of about $39k, thankyouverymuch. Cohesion be damned!

man your gonna have enough cash soon enough to build a great team.

I dunno... this is pretty slow going, honestly. I think I can build up another $200k or so before next season starts, and I'll be able to comfortably field a team that's much better skill-wise than what I started out with... but still not particularly good, really. I won't have any players with true market values over $200,000 - but in division V I guess that's not a big deal. My goal is pretty simple - use my speculating cash to get rolling with a better roster, then start (next season, presumably, though perhaps later) settling down and churning the team from the inside once my youth squad gets up to a quality level.

Hehe I noticed that yesterday while looking around the transfer list. Is that what you set him at or did he get bid up to there? Seems the other kid did not sell though.
I am no market expert by any means but I do try and give a more conservative figure. That way if I look like an idiot... :)

This is more of a PSA for any new guys. I've got a weak keeper, that's 1 week from inadequate. I can't train him, because I've got a solid & a passable I'm already training.
He's a 1.5star keeper as is, so a back-up at best, and 20yrs old. If anybody wants him, let me know, I'll list him for you. I don't want to dump him if nobody wants him. I figure, if one of my keepers gets hurt, I can just put him in for a week and bump him up.
Gah, anyway, 1.5* keeper, if a new guy wants a back-up for $1k

I put his asking price at $200,000. I'm fairly aggressive with my asking price. I don't inspire many bidding wars, but if nobody will pay the price I want, then I don't want to sell. I'm in this to make money, not to be modest. Ahhh... the acrid smell of unbridled capitalism!

Thats interesting, I usually do the opposite which is I guess is a little more risky and play on the oneupmanship of others and rely on greed. I think that is what I like the most about this game is watching how different people use different ideas to achieve the same result, although currently I am in no financial position to play the market again for a bit.
