For today's challenge we will be playing a trivia tug of war. Here is how it works:

I will post a question. Who ever answers the question correctly will get one point for thier team. Once it is verified that he got the right answer, whoever answered the question correctly will post a trivia question of their own.

If no one answers a question after an hour, anyone (except the person who posted that question) may post the next question. Whoever posts the new question will be awarded an additional point.

If a question is answered, but the person who asked the question does not verify if the answer is correct or not, the answer will be assumed to be correct and the point will be awarded after 10 minutes, even if the answer is clearly wrong.

This game will continue for 24 hours. The team with the most points will have immunity. The team with less points will face tribal council.

No private messages allowed. Yes this game does lend itself to cheating, but I do ask that you play the game fairly, after all this game is just for fun and no money is involved.

Note: This game is only for those playing Survivor FOFC. If you arn't involved in this game, you shouldn't bother with this.

Note # 2: Vexroid has been randomly selected to sit this game out so that the teams have even sizes.

Edit: you have 15 minutes to aks your question. If you fail to do so anyone may post a new questiona and take one bonus point

Hey fellow Dolamites. We have a nice lead at this point. We should really ratchet up the difficulty level of the questions now to preserve the lead.

Its now been an hour since the last answer was confirmed:

Three players in NCAA Mens Division 1 Basketball history have recorded 1000 assists in their career. All of them played in the same conference. Name the 3 players, and the teams they played for.

(1 point dolas!)

Marmel

Chris Corchiani, NC State 4 124 1038 1991
Keith Jennings, E Tenn St 4 127 983 1991

That is according to this:

Should be 13-11 DH right now(It was 13-8, I got 1 point for posting a question after an hour was up, right? Then marmel got an answer right, and I got one right)

Next Question:

Name the most recent Quarterback who won the Heisman Trophy and later went on to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

(I'm not sure if there's any ambiguity there but I define recent in terms of the year the person won the Heisman, not the year they made the HOF)

with the game lasting a whole 24 hours, there is no way I can follow the whole thing. keeping track of your own score makes much more since. I will investigate any specific protests though.

PS, it should be 13-11, I erred just before marmel's post

Interesting how this game has been going. It started out looking like it would be a blowout for the Dolamites, then Dean Houston stormed back and took a solid lead. Now the Dolamites have tied it all up. I am off to bed now, it will be interesting to see who is up when I wake up

Good point Marmel, I am hoping my latest question lends itself to the Dolas getting another point, but we should probably start to delay with a 7 point lead(plus, I have to go to lunch in about 20 minutes)

Radii

Marmel is correct. 20-13 Dolas

Hmm, I just rechecked my rules, and that is not one of them. THe hour is if no one answers the question.

There is no rule about what happens if you don't ask a new question, so I will make an arbitrary ruling that you must ask your new question within 15 minutes.

Marmel
03-06-2003, 10:41 AM
OK, fair enough St. Kelly.

Radii
03-06-2003, 10:43 AM
Ahhh ok, well after lunch I should be here pretty consistantly until 6pm or so, hopefully enough to prevent a comeback. (and note Marmel I confirmed your answer a few posts ago) ;)

Marmel
03-06-2003, 10:43 AM
So, should we go for extremely tough questions that might be hard to come up with an answer in an hour in order to stertch it out?

Let's try this one:

At what New York Restaurant did former Giants Quarterback YA Tittle announce his retirement in 1965? :)

Marmel
03-06-2003, 10:44 AM
and I should be around pretty consistantly from 6-8, and then after 9. Or at least, I will try to make a point being around.

I will give a bonus point to the player that asks the question after the 15 minute time limit.

Marmel
03-06-2003, 11:49 AM
hey ardent. Do whatever you can. As long as we are holding this large lead, I think the strategy is to come up with questions that will take a while to answer (hopefully), therefore stetching out the time frame to our advantage.

If the DH's start catching up, we will have to abandon the stall tactics.

Poli
