Some interesting games this week and I am happy. I haven't been home to enjoy my Sunday ticket for weeks and wasn't expecting to be home to enjoy it this week.

Houston at Cleveland is my favorite game I think. Houston is looking a little more alive then they did a couple weeks ago.

Washington/Tampa Bay and New Orleans/Carolina(no Vinny today) has some interest to me.

And the day finishes up with New England blowing out another team on SNF.

Cringer

Houston goes for it on 4th and 2 on their first drive. The pass down field a little is overthrown and it is a no go. A little off that ball and Houston is down inside the Brown's 20.

11-25-2007, 12:11 PM
Browns have throwback uni's today? They have white stripes on their helmets with the player numbers on the sides.

Pats are up 21-0 eventhough the game doesnt start until 8pm.

Lots of fans crying about fairness, but Pats fans defend team by saying, "This is the NFL. You either show up to play 7 hours early, or you get embarassed."

Cringer
11-25-2007, 12:29 PM
Took almost the whole first quarter before someone scored in Cleveland, I am surprised. Houston up 7-0 on a TD pass.

Most of the games today are irrelevant. The only game that matters is Packers-Cowboys on Thursday for #1 seed in the NFC. The Packers will have to win in Dallas at some point so it might as well be Thursday and not January as the Cowboys will have a tough time in Lambeau in January. Patriots-Colts, Packers-Cowboys in January is all that matters now.

David Carr needs to turn up the accuracy sliders, he's 0/5 so far.

I was just thinking that. I'm flipping through games on Sunday Ticket and all of them are relatively boring right now.

I'm so glad I decided to start Eli today. God he sucks. Facing the worst passing defense in the league who gave up over 300 yards to Culpepper! 80 yards and 2 picks. The Seahawks are getting trounced by Gus Frerotte and the Rams! LOL!

Atocep
11-25-2007, 03:52 PM
I would estimate the bears have had 4 or 5 interceptions this year on plays that Bernard Berrian either quit on a route, ran the wrong route, or didn't fight for a ball that was over his head.

Tell me about it. After the first Cards TD, I was just about to turn the TV off. But the offense is actually playing today, which is a good thing, isn't it?

BTW, Darrell Jackson has to go. Please, please, cut him at halftime.

The Broncos just ran what looked like a college option play and scored, ouch.

Second time they've ran the play in the game and fourth time this year. In the Buffalo game earlier in the year the Broncos ran the play on their own two yard line. Cutler pitched it and Henry ran for about 35 yards.

Today Cutler had a six or seven yard run with it. Then he pitched it the next time and the back ran for a TD. With the way the Broncos offense is looking, they may need to run more option today.

When did AJ Feeley get great?

Since that Samuel INT TD return he has been phenomenal. Best game by a QB I've seen this year. Brady's great games and Manning's great games are with nobody pressuring them. Feeley has delivered great pass after great pass with guys bearing down on him.

It supports the New England OL for MVP.

Brady and Moss don't have the time to do their thing. Philadelphia is outnumbering their OL in many cases so it's all on Brady and the WRs. They're not performing. The Patriot OL is dominant to the point that you have to send 6 or more to get pressure.

I don't think Moss has much of a chance for MVP in any case. Brady wins it hands down IMO, right now. If he doesn't win it then it is Favre with the "wow, look what the old man is doing" vote taking him a long way.

No, I don't think the Pats were not trying. The Eagles played a helluva game. I don't think you toy with someone by letting the other team get to your 30-yard line with a first down only trailing by 3 points late in the fourth quarter. The Pats are not that good. Eagles played well, Pats were a little flat on O and D, but gotta give the Eagles credit for that.

This bodes well for an undefeated regular season at least. Whenever you get one of these runs, there is always that game or two against the lesser opponent when you just come out flat - an off day. When and if you survive those, it wakes you up for future games. That just happened here.

I just wanted it reviewed. The initial catch looked skeptical because it appeared his knee hit out of bounds. And you were taking my last comment out of context. I was not saying that I was hoping for a mistake and to get a TD overturned that shouldn't have been. I was stating that there have been calls overturned that looked like they were clear touchdowns (or non-touchdowns) but when looked at again, it was shown that the call should be overturned.

I think you all are giving bsak a hard time on this. What is so wrong with him saying that close plays (especially ones that matter as much as a touchdown) should be reviewed by the booth? In this situation can anyone not say that it wasn't a close call (one that might or might not be messed up at real time speed)?

I think objectively I would say it was a close call, one I think they got right and was a TD, but that is the exact play that should be reviewed under the current system and I am suprised that it was not.

For the record, I also think that PI call on Moss was Bogus too though.

Back in town for 2 days after my trip to my parents in Brockton (which, yes, included the 45 minute drive to the stadium to visit the pro shop and pay homage). Got to watch most of the game. Brady was having a bad game (inaccurate throws on lots of normally sure completions), Moss was dropping stuff he wasn't breaking a sweat catching earlier, Welker would have had an even BIGGER game if Brady didn't keep throwing behind him, and could not tell if the defense played soft or if the Eagles figured out something that let them keep getting guys wide open. The Eagles definitely came to play, and I think Reid sent a good message with the early onsides kick. Very glad to see the Patriots escape this one with the win, and even more glad to see them get tested like this late in the season.

It was my understanding that the booth DOES review every play inside those 2 minutes. If something looks amiss or they can't tell, they stop play so they can take a closer look. NBC had a pretty obvious angle that showed it was a TD, and they did not need to take a closer look before the teams lined up for the XP. They aren't going to stop play unnecessarily.

And the interference call on Moss was bogus (the defender had a handful of shirt for crying out loud, and he was the one who initiated the contact), but the Pats still should have scored that TD. And Gostkowski should never have missed the chipshot. It was that kind of night for the Pats.

Sheesh - terrible decision, terrible throw.

I would actually argue that was an awesome defensive playcall. Everyone lined up, and Sanders then crept up into that open area. Feeley never saw him make the move. He probably SHOULD have seen him when he went to throw, but this was more a misread of a disguised defense. The corner was soft, he probably didn't spend time looking that way to avoid tipping the defense off, and when he did the safety had moved up to take it away and he missed it.

He shouldn't have thrown it...regardless of the defensive playcall. Why leave 4 minutes on the clock and give Brady the chance to comeback? Inside the two-minute warning I wouldn't be as upset with the decision but Feeley needed to be looking to tie the game first and leaving no time on the clock.

McNabb didn't play.

I was never one to join the Donovan must go bandwagon, but I can honestly say that if McNabb would've played last night, the Eagles would not have been as close to winning. He is not as accurate as Feeley. A lot of those throws over the middle would've been thrown 100mph either into the ground or over the WR's head.

Oh, on the contrary, I think there is a QB controversy and it could be between all three of them, too. Of course Reid is going to deny it 'til his death but you have to think that the Eagles have to be thinking about Feeley and Kolb for next season and trying to move McNabb.
