Andre Johnson vs Den secondary or Brandon Marshall vs Hou secondary?
I really, really want to stick with Andre, but if Marshall outdoes him tonight it'll be a very tough start to my game this week. Ah well, should be a fun game to watch and I'm really curious to see how the Houston RB's fare tonight and if anybody starts to make a charge on the job for next year.

I love how the Texans are rattling Cutler in pressure situations. Second time in a row they rushed on 4th down, this time he threw the ball away.
Go Texans.
By the way, I am decidely not a fan of monochrome uniforms but I have to admit that the Texans' uniforms look pretty good tonight. We rarely have seen that team so I don't even know what they usually wear.

Hah, only one post in the NFL thread on the night of a game, given that we have a lot of Cincinnati fans here that surprises me a bit, even with the game on the NFL Network.
When I saw that Deion and Marshall Faulk were doing the game I really cringed and considered watching without sound. But they didn't end up bothering me that much. A little too much patting themselves on the backs for calling plays, but I like when the color guy(s) actually call people out. And they were saying that Chad and TJ were mailing it in and looked like they wanted to go home, they were saying how 2-11 teams really don't care about winning as much as evaluating personnel (Like the NFL wants their network broadcasting this) and they were very critical of many coaching decisions made in the game. They also gave some explanations that are a lot simpler and more reasonable then the John Madden's of the world try to present. I have to say they did allright.

I still hate Deion...he just annoys me...that will never go away. That game though, as a Bengal's fan...wow, we are just a generous team. We give every opposing quarterback the opportunity to have a career day against us. That is true Christmas Spirit, and we've had it all year! What is with all this talk of our thuggery? We are givers, not takers!
Oh, and we are a horrible, horrible, horrible football team.

It looks like good old-fashion winter conditions in Foxboro. Snow, Rain, Sleet, Wind (probably mostly rain during the game itself) I sucks I won't get the game in Boise when they're getting it about 20 miles east of here for some reason. Though I can't complain too much - I think it's only the 3rd Pats game I haven't seen live this season despite being 3,000 miles away.

I think it started off as the upkeep of a field, and then turned into people saying every team should get FieldTurf to reduce the effect rain, snow, etc. had on the field. And then it kind of got into how the reasoning being that mushy field means players aren't at 100%, and certain fofcers didn't want that.

Pennington's got a weak arm, yes, but he's just been a scapegoat for Jets fans this season. The offense has stunk just as bad with KC at the helm, who's supposedly got a rocket arm. No blocking, no running game, bad playcalling, terrible defence (although it's gotten better recently).
DaddyTorgo

TBH though...i think he gives the jets the best chance to win. He's more accurate underneath...he doesn't turn the ball over on underneath throws, and he makes better decisions then clemmons. Which is what you need against a belicheck-defense. As long as you tell him not to throw it deep and turn it over.

I truely believe that Pennington could be a winner on the right team. He would be great with the Bears, or the Ravens...a tough defensive team that doesn't need to gun the ball. The Jets don't have that. We don't really have anything. This team lacks an identity, and while I think we are trying to acheive one, we're not there yet, and Pennington just doesn't work with no running game/no defense.

Well...no one. What I mean is that right now, the only thing the Jets can do is throw the ball. Their identity right now is a passing offense, and that doesn't work with Pennington. When your always trying to play catchup and you have Pennington as your QB, it doesn't work.

1) Call a timeout he doesn't have?

3) Let an errant pass bounce between his legs, which then trips up Feely on the sidelines.

That was as much a touchdown as the Pats TD against the Ravens. And while I am at it the inetrfernce against Moss interfernce as much as it was offensive interfernce with the push Moss gave with his left hand. All of this tells me the NFL commissioners office has let the officiating crew know it is in the best interest of there careers as officials to make sure the Pats get the calls today.

It didn't increase their chance to win very much, but all they needed was 3 kneel-downs to win. If Westbrook scores, the Cowboys need a score, an onside kick, and another score. They're definitely better off with #1.
Forgoing a TD to give your team a that little of an edge is a pretty selfless move.

Cowboys fall! If the atrocious Lions had done their jobs last week, the Packers would be in the drivers seat for #1 seed. I think the Cowboys will lose one of their last 2 games and the Packers will reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Congratulations to the Dolphins for finally winning a game. They deserve it.

Packers need to win in Chicago next week before home against the Lions. The Bears won't roll over, not a sure thing for the Packers to win out even if the Cowboys lose another one.

You're worried about the free falling Bears? Kyle Orton is the starting QB! Kyle Orton! Just watch as they get eaten alive tomorrow night, and the Packers are much better than the Vikings. Sure it'll be a rivalry game, but you're forgetting one thing. NOBODY BEATS THE PACKERS IN SOLDIER FIELD!!

The same crappy Bears that won in Green Bay, so yes it is something to worry about. I am sure plenty of Ravens fans thought today was a easy win. It's the NFL, not such thing as a sure thing.

Interesting choice by Westbrook. How many people in the midst of fantasy football playoffs are screaming at their televisions right now?
For anyone not getting Dallas - Philly, Westbrook just sat down on the 1-yard line rather than taking an easy touchdown to keep the clock running.
I think this was *directly* related to Week 10, where the Eagles had a 1 point lead over the Redskins, the Skins gave the ball up at their own 10 with 2:24 left, and everyone thought the game was over. The next play Westbrook scored a 10 yard TD...which gave the ball back to WAS with 2:18 to go and a chance to still tie.

This is so fucking incredible, the fins are really really embarrasing to watch.
Btw, i think the Ravens just gave the Fins a chance, with the momentum they were having, i would have gone for the 1st and 1 for TD with those 8 seconds remaining instead of kicking the FG to tie the game.
I am glad I was not the only one who thought this while watching the game. However, I can't really blame Billick. I don't think any other NFL coach goes for it in that situation either.
BTW, who the fuck is Greg Camarillo?
He will be the next very good receiver for the Patriots in a couple of years. Just like that other white receiver the Dolphins had who wore #83 and was waived by San Diego.

they really aren't playing that well. The Giants receivers are stinking the joint up.

Somewhat fair, but Portis is having a great game along with the OLine..
Plus, several of those drops have been because of good hits by Skins receivers.

A great move. It put the stamp on the win. It left them with 3 kneel downs and getting on the plane to go home. Why even risk the chance of giving the Cowboys (a team that has been one of the better offensive teams in the league, except today) a chance to do anything.
The odds of a fumble on a kneel down are very astronomical.

Roy Williams suspended a game for his third horse collar personal foul of the season. Is this a rule for all personal fouls or specific to the horse collar?
SackAttack
12-17-2007, 08:26 PM
I would imagine that since he was the reason for the rule's creation, the league is getting tired of him doing it. Heh.

12-17-2007, 08:33 PM
Actually, that is kind of where I was going :) If it isn't the same for everyone, it sucks balls. I honestly don't see the horse collar as a more dangerous play than a hit on a defenseless receiver, for example.
How often has a rule been made for one player, and the player continued to break said rule?

Which is kind of where I was going. It's not that they're "only enforcing discipline for one player," it's that the rule was changed because of the conduct of one very specific player, which player has continued to flout the rule.
If a hit to the wallet isn't going to get the message across, maybe sitting for a week and the resulting anger from his coaches will.

They really need to start suspending a lot more heavily for all personal fouls. Is there a list of the personal fouls somewhere?

I'm pretty sure Williams' suspension is because its his third offense this season. He's been fined for the other two. I believe the suspension would apply to any player who did three in a season.

I think it's safe to say no one has or will probably get suspended for the horse collar because I don't think any other player in the league has been flagged for it more than once.
I can't wait until he does it again, and they suspend 2-3 more games.
