Interesting concept, a statement about our society I guess (at least in MA).
Risqué ads promoting affair website hit the Hub (http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO94929/)
BOSTON -- A new local ad campaign is promoting some risqué business.
The Ashley Madison Agency is an online dating service, which hooks up married men and women with other people. The company's website, AshleyMadison.com, says it "guarantees an affair to remember."
Its motto is, "Life is short, have an affair."

Yup.
Understand that I rank infidelity right up there with child molestation on the Scale of Evil Behaviors, though. I recognize that others feel differently.
Just because I think they deserve to rot in hell doesn't mean they have to. It doesn't even have to hurt their feelings that I think so. My personal moral judgments really don't carry any weight in the grand scheme of things.

No I wouldn't. I was almost killed in a car accident and drove through that intersection many times without incident afterwards.
I do see your point however and we will just have to agree to disagree.
I hope I never have to read up on infidelity, I know what you went through and you are stronger then me. There would be no second chances as far as I am concerned.

Old age is actually the #1 cause of the destruction of marriages in the world.
Anyhoo, I see no reason why this place should be held legally liable for anything. I also see no reason why someone shouldn't be able to hold them morally liable at all. I personally wouldn't want to have to get up every morning knowing I'm making a living off destroying lives, but for each his own.

I'm cool with that, Lathum.
On the business model, I actually don't disagree with you. I just see their presentation as poor taste. To me, it's the equivalent of gun maker advertising "Life is short. Shoot your wife." or a beer maker going with "Life is short. Drive drunk." because the aftermath for the victims (the betrayed spouse and the children) is pretty much the same.
I hope I never have to read up on infidelity, I know what you went through and you are stronger then me. There would be no second chances as far as I am concerned.
Me too, man. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. And I used to be a "no second chances" guy, right up to the point that I had to realize that giving my kids a stable, loving, complete household was an obligation I took on when they were born, and one I had to keep if it was at all possible.
Life is funny that way. You never know how you're going to react until you're forced to deal with it.

Are there any 'Singles' on Ashley Madison?
There are many single people on Ashley Madison that wish to meet attached people for various reasons.
If you are single and wish to meet an attached person, you're probably going to have to try a little harder. Single people don't have as much to risk and you may find some attached people unwilling to take a risk with you.
People in relationships may feel that you have an upper-hand and that you may not be sympathetic to their circumstances. Take your time to build an additional level of trust with attached people you wish to meet.
Alternatively, single people have more flexibility with their schedule & are usually more available. Singles are more apt to work within your limitations since they have few boundaries. Single people can also be more fun to be with - their guard is down & they don't care who sees them.

You know what would make this a great gimmick? You charge the intial fee, then in the fine print have it be a recurring fee of $1,000 every year. If you don't pay, then they'll use any means necessary to collect the fee, including contacting employers, or sending certified letters with the name of the company boldly printed on it to your house. You'd have a gold-mine.

I was tired of my lady
We'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleeping
I stayed up on-line instead
On AshleyMadison.com
There was this profile I read
"If you like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape."
I didn't think about my lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
But me and my old lady
Have fallen into the same old dull routine
So I typed in my password
Couldn't wait to respond
And though I'm no one's Adonis
I hoped she'd be a hot blonde
"Yes I like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
And cut through all this red-tape
At a bar called O'Malley's
Where we'll plan our escape."
So I waited with high hopes
And she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant
I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady
And she said, "Oh it's you."
Then we laughed for a moment
And I said, "I never knew."
That you like Pina Coladas
Getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of champagne
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes of the Cape
Then thank God for that website
Come with me and escape

Jackson eagerly listed a host of sexual positions and described various fantasies, none of which were outlandish. He wanted to experiment with a vibrator and sex toys, to be seduced by a woman in lacy lingerie wearing deep-red lipstick, and, on occasion, to be awoken by oral sex. He followed up this recipe for fulfillment with complaints about his wife’s shortcomings in bed. She doesn’t know how to move her hips, he said, and was apparently never briefed on the all-important Avoid Teeth While Performing Fellatio rule. Still, Jackson insisted, “my life is absolutely perfect, except for the gaping wide hole left by lack of sex.”
Seems topical given a recent thread. Other questions should have been:

I was just shocked at the number of members on the site. In addition to the divorce rates, I was just wondering how many people that are married are staying in marriages for some other reason (money, children, ect.). Is it a lack of sexual chemistry? Definitely. I think most of what's behind the divorce and infidelity rates is a sense that love is something you're either in or out of. When in fact, marriage just involves a lot of daily work. If you stop doing it, things get bad. But the solution is to get back to working on it. A lot of people feel like if they're not feeling it any more though, it must be the wrong relationship.

It's 4 million members because they force you to sign up to check out the site. How many women do you think checked it out to be offended when Oprah was talking about it?
The key number would be how many people actually pay, which I would guess is a pretty low number. I would doubt it's even 100k.
