Get a year's worth of Krispy Kreme donuts for $20 (http://www.kold.com/story/14626529/get-a-years-worth-of-krispy-kreme-donuts-for-20)
$20 for three dozen glazed doughnuts and one doughnut and a coffee every day for a year.
Man, if I lived in Arizona...

How in the world does this make sense for Krispy Kreme?

Dunno, but it makes me wish I lived in Arizona.
Maybe they expect that most people will want more than one doughnut? Or that they'll want (and be charged) for another coffee. I assume they probably only give you a smallish coffee anyway.
Probably mostly a way to generate loyal customers.

A couple of theories:
1. Loss leader--take a hit on the coupon to get people into the store every day where they won't just settle for their one free donut. Expand the customer base, etc.
2. Immediate revenue--Not everyone who buys one is going to come in to collect their free donut every day. A few won't come back at all.

Way too much to pay for a Krispy Kreme donut...
I'd go for the coffee and skip the donut 90% of the time. I pay $1.60 a day for my coffee.

You know there's a couple KK workers who had their day ruined by this.

In your blind exuberance you missed something.
The offer is three dozen & a 365 card for $20. The car is good for a free donut & coffee every day for a year. So it is NOT for three-friggin-dozen donuts & a coffee every damn day (thank god!)

He didn't say it was. He said it was "three dozen glazed doughnuts and one doughnut and a coffee every day for a year" -- it wasn't said very clearly, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to say it was three dozen every day.
