Is he the only player still on the roster from that team?
Edit: Wow, Megatron was there.
Yeah. Calvin Johnson was there.
Manny Ramirez, who the Lions just traded for during this year's draft, was on the team too.

What a Big Ben?
He's honestly probably the third best QB of this generation behind Brady/Manning.
Age wise, I have him in the Eli and Rivers camp. Those guys are still young enough that age shouldn't be hitting them quite yet.

Out of the three: I'd take Roethlisberger every time.

It is still possible that Brees plays this weekend, so I doubt it is a serious injury.
Decision on Brees won’t be made until late in the week | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/21/decision-on-brees-wont-be-made-until-late-in-the-week/)

Part of that is on Brees. By demanding so much money, he tied their hands.
Getting paid slightly less than Joe Flacco should not tie the hands of a good front office. The reality is that the Saints have done a horrible job of cap management and team building:
The Saints have 11 guys that count $4 million or more against the salary cap. Of those 11 players, here are 8 of them
Jimmy Graham (2nd highest)
Not on team.
Jahri Evans (3rd highest)
Average Starter at Guard
Marques Colston (4th highest)
I love Colston. One of my favorite Saints ever. But a #2 WR at this point.
Ben Grubbs (5th highest)
No longer on the team and not worth the money.
Jarius Byrd (6th highest)
Injured
Junior Galette (7th highest)
Not on team.
Curtis Lofton (8th highest)
No longer on the team. Below average player at MLB when he was.
David Hawthorne (11th highest)
Average LB
Steve Weatherford (12th highest)
Punter

Dola. I will stop now. Thinking this much about how poorly my favorite team is managed makes me sad.

I agree there was a bit of mismanagement, but the Ravens haven't set the world on fire since the Flacco deal either.

So, if this result holds up, the last three teams to play the Patriots in the 2014-15 season (Baltimore, Indy and Seattle) are 0-6. Of course, the only real explanation for this is that Bill Belichick used his influence with Satan to curse these teams for getting in their way.

Ryan Grigson needs to be fired. They are badly outmatched.

I could become a Tomlin fan if he keeps going for 2 every time. Cause you pretty much should. Especially if you have a decent line, and studs at QB,WR and RB.

Re: The Saints-
With their cap the way it is, I'm pretty shocked they could even field a 53 man roster this year. I looked at it early in the off season and they only had a very few moves they could even make to get under. They're really in trouble.

That Dorsett picks looks pretty horrendous given the other holes on the roster. I did think the rookie Anderson on the dline looked like a player, but yeah in general if you have Andrew Luck you need to put a better team around him and not get him killed.

They're really in trouble. They started the tear down with the Graham trade, then screwed themselves with Galette, but they really have no good options for 2016 either. $31m in dead cap this year (next highest team at $24m), already $15m in dead cap for next year (next highest at $7m). The worst thing they could do is extend Brees contract and delay the inevitable. Just suck it up in 2016 and find a new QB for 2017-on

In a way, had Brees torn his shoulder and had to retire, he would have retired a hero as a Saint, and it would have forced the team to start the necessary rebuild ASAP.
Bruising the shoulder means he will likely play noodle-armed for the rest of the season, the team won't fully commit to a rebuild, and there could be a messy divorce that sees him finishing his career in Houston or Buffalo or some such location.
I'm an optimistic fan, but signs are not looking good right now.

He's too greedy not to collect as much money as possible. So your scenario is probably how things will play out.
