Martha Coakley isn't as awful as Roy Moore, but the comparison to Scott Brown putting a (R) in a Massachusetts Senate seat is obvious.

I don't think it would have been better in any way. This is a nightmare for Republicans as it gives hope in just about any state if you can get the turnout. Dems can still campaign on the fact that a large number of Republicans, including the president, backed a pedophile.

Dems....campaign?

Looking forward to the idiot Berniebro, Jill Stein, Tulsi Gabbard wing of the party to begin attacking Doug Jones when his voting record isn't to the left of Elizabeth Warren.

Al Franken needs to run for president on the Green ticket with Jill Stein as his running-mate.

Best ticket name ever.

Surprised that link didn't kill the thread since it's a Kinja link.

Don't know what that means. Just copy/pasted the link. Is there something different we're supposed to do?

What's funny is the late swing to Jones was likely because of Trump's endorsement and campaigning for Moore.

I tend to doubt that. It's funny to think of it that way, but I think Moore lost this election for himself. Trump's endorsement and campaigning might have kept more Republicans from defecting and writing somebody else in, but I don't think it did Moore any damage.

Might have done the President himself some harm since it's the second candidate he endorsed in this election who lost, but I don't think Trump was an albatross around Moore's neck.

PING: Any Mod **TAKEAWAY--DO NOT LINK TO OR COPY/PASTE FROM GAWKER SITES** - Front Office Football Central (https://forums.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=92927)

Gawker is dead, long live Kinja. Same thing though.

Oh, and to clarify, it's something with the HTML/Javascript that borks the ability to read the thread at all. Even with the top Admin rights that I have, I can't delete/edit these posts from the front end of vbulletin, so the only option is to go into the database that holds all of the post data that vBulletin uses to display threads and posts, and delete the reference to that post.

So, to be clear: don't link to or post from Gawker sites. It will break the thread and requires a manual fix from me if I happen to be available.

I heard that some other boards were having the same problem. My guess is that someone brought it to their attention and they changed whatever it was that was causing it.

Actually, I would presume the late swing was because the bluest areas in the state tend to be urban and populous. As a result, voting and vote counts take longer. It's pretty common for Dems to get late pushes because of the later completion of vote counts in urban areas.

I think he was talking about undecided voters breaking for Jones rather than late vote counts.

The breakage that happened coincided with GMG's move to infinite scrolling on articles. For the most part, that scrolling is gone (a few verticals still seem to have it), so the code may be safe to link to now.

Still don't miss the links (except for the Onion).

Every vote that isn't R is fraudulent, every official who doesn't pledge allegiance to the party is tainted. Whee.

Looking at the data Moore is using, basically he’s claiming that most minority votes shouldn’t count. Not really surprising considering his prior statements.

AL Sec of State, who voted for Moore, isn’t letting it get in the way of swearing in Jones today.

Yes

He's saying 47% turnout in Jefferson County isn't possible. Basically, black people can't possibly vote at the same rate white people vote.

He sure didn't think that would happen, with all of the roadblocks put in place to keep it from happening.

Roy Moore's Jew lawyer?

Turns out he's a self-described messianic-Jew that accepted Jesus back in the seventies.

Looks like Bannon's goons tried to pay off the accusers attorney. Sure is a lot of work they put into protecting a pedophile.
