Once again, there was a play on that final drive where Mahomes was running and then does a sudden slide. It was the kind of slide that a defender might not be able to pull out of their tackle attempt. I feel like (here and in the out of bounds plays) Mahomes is trying to take advantage of player safety rules to get free first downs and it really bothers me.

Love this move. He’s been the most logical fit for the Lions since Hutchinson went down. To be honest, I would not say no to another DE.
The window is now!

He has done this for years and that's why I think the defenders should get the benefit of the doubt on those calls. If you want to get out of bounds or slide, do it. None of this fake bullshit to get calls. |

Damn, not a single post about the best game of the year last night? I'm trying to move past the election.
Anyway, amazing game. The instant it happened, it felt like the Bengals' fumble up 21-7 with all the momentum was going to be a game-changer, and it was. Unfortunately, the game ended on what appeared to be a bit of controversy in that Gesicki got absolutely mauled coming off the line the second the ball was snapped on the failed 2-point conversion, and the refs ate their flags after escorting the Bengals down the field on a series of Ravens' penalties (all of which seemed OK/legit). I don't know if a call would have been made either way, but I don't think Gesicki helped himself by turning into a South American soccer player in an attempt to sell the call. But he shouldn't have needed to. The other thing I'll note is that I found it hard to watch the broadcast continually show Burrow getting nailed in the small of the back replay after replay to discuss that he might be hurting, but I don't recall one word about the fact that the hit came 3-4 steps after the ball was released. Guys get roughing calls for sneezing on a QB, but that hit wasn't flagged, nor commented on by the broadcasters even after showing it at least a dozen times? What am I missing?

The Bengals have three All-Pro level players, Burrow, Chase, and Hendrickson, but they'll almost certainly miss the payoffs because the rest of the roster is terrible.

You're writing everything I would have written except that as good as Joe Cool was, Lamar was a little better. That almost-TD run where he was pressured by 3 guys was insane. If I were a clickbait writer, I'd be saying "Is Lamar a better mobile QB than Mahomes?". |
