I'm sick :(
Running a fever on and off, can't breathe, goopy stuff in my chest is making me cough...self medicated for the past couple days but it's getting worse instead of better. Going to the dr. today, hopefully he'll give me some good drugs so I can breathe...

That combination of bacterial infections hits me right after a cold/flu virus about 50% of the time - so I can sympathize. On the bright side, now that you've learned it is just a bacterial infection it can be treated with antibiotics - if you just had a continuing cold you'd be out of luck. Oh, and here's a tip just for future reference: next time you get this, mention to the doctor that you haven't been able to sleep for two days because of your persistent cough. That kind of hint usually nets you some codeine cough syrup, which is the most wonderful stuff on the face of the planet (especially when you have been up two days straight with a bronchitis cough). |

But not if you are taking codeine-enhanced cough syrup. Mixing is a no-no. On that front, though, my friend used to make the best cough syrup out of Golden Grain with spices and honey. Excellent stuff. |

I feel perfectly healthy. Isn't it strange how much you take for granted being totally healthy and 100%?

See, I read that post as "go send your husband to the store (after he is done cooking dinner) to the store to buy green tea, lemons and honey"...so if he fusses at me, I am telling him it was Dodgerchick's idea and to blame you... |

I have not been sick since I was 16 years old, which was almost 16 years ago. *knocks on wood*
Since then (when I had a nasty bout of the flu followed by strep throat), which was December 1990/January 1991, I have had some head colds, some sore throats, some lingering coughs, but nothing that has forced me to go to the doctor's, get a prescription, or even miss a day of work or school. I haven't had a "sick day" since my junior year of highschool. *knocks soundly on wood once more just to be sure*

ROFL!! Uhh.. okay. Tell him it has to be Tazo Green Tea with organic honey and lemons from the Natural Food Store. If he gets the "regular" stuff, it won't have the same effect Oh yeah, since he's already cooking dinner, have him make you some chicken noodle soup. |

Absolutely!! There's so many people at work that had the flu, or missed several days of work because they've been so ill. I've been very, very lucky... not even sniffles. Of course having said that, I probably cursed myself and'll probably catch a cold or something. |

Well, he decided to put dinner off to tomorrow night...and I don't even know where the health/natural food store is, so I'll probably spare him and wait til tomorrow to hit the green tea with honey and lemon. Do the lemons have to be organic too or can I just buy regular grocery store lemons? |

Aw, my radii is so awesome...he is going to take out some trash (we dump it at the apt. complex across the street) and said "so now what is this tea stuff you mentioned earlier?" He was actually going to go buy it for me...until i told him it was all organic crap that he had to go to the health food store for
I may just have him get me a milkshake instead! |

I had the flu when I was 16. Since then, no flu. And I did qualify the statemnent by saying, "but nothing that has forced me to go to the doctor's, get a prescription, or even miss a day of work or school." Nothing to keep me bed-ridden. I am stong like bull. In any event, you sound exactly like my wife whenever I mention this amazing feat of mine. One wife is enough thank you very much, so ... SHUT IT!

Nah, it doesn't have to be organic. Regular tea/lemon/honey is fine. Some say organic is better because they don't use pesticides. |
