Futility Bowl: The Worst Franchise in Sports Tourney, Rd. 5
The Whalers/Hurricanes were sent back out to sea in round 4, leaving 6 combatants to fight it out for the title of "Worst Franchise in Professional Sports."
How They Went: 1. New York Jets, 21 of 55 votes, 38.18%, Boston Red Sox second with 14 votes. 2. Boston Red Sox, 24 of 53 votes, 45.28%, Los Angeles Kings second with 9 votes. 3. Los Angeles Kings, 11 of 22 votes, 50%, Hartford Whalers second with 4 votes. 4. Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, 13 of 34 votes, 38.24%, Bengals and Seahawks tied for second with 5 votes each. I'll help...I'll go with Cincy here. Yeah, they ROYALLY stink now, and have stunk before, but they've made the superbowl before and had some solid teams in the mid-late 80's. The same can't be said of NO or Sea.
