Ernie Sims should have at least been close in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race.

As a Saints fan I'm a bit of a Bush/Colston homer, but I must admit that what Vince Young did this year was crazy impressive.

Was it the 66.7 passer rating, or the fact that "all he does is win."

FTR, Jones-Drew probably should have won, or Colston, but he got injured and missed a few games.

In his first few starts, his rating was 52.6 and they went 2-3. However, in the 2nd half of the season, his rating was 80.5, and they went 6-2, barely missing the playoffs. So to me it appears that it is a combination of winning games and stats.

I'd have liked to see the OROY be a bit closer, with Colston and Jones-Drew getting more votes, but I didn't figure it would be.

Man, how psyched Houston would have been to have both the DROY and a top-5 finisher in the OROY balloting...

Or the DROY and the OROY.
The hometown fans aren't exactly crying about not taking Reggie Bush anymore.

I think Jones-Drew should've gotten it based on stats (16 overall TDs). Based on wins and my choice, Marcus McNeill should've gotten it. It's too bad that an offensive lineman will never win this award or League MVP.

The only thing about Jones-Drew is that he split time. The fact that he rushed for over 900 yards splitting time is great, but he still split time. I believe that Marcus McNeill, on the other hand, started from day 1, which isn't something that Vince Young did...not to take away what Vince Young accomplished, but just pointing out what each player did for their team to win. |

Football Outsiders had McNeil rated as the best Left Tackle in the NFL this season. Which is amazing, if true. Based only play, I'd probably lean toward McNeil or Jones-Drew. Vince played very well over his last 8 games, but I don't think he had the best rookie season. |

McNeil was probably the best choice. But it's probably hardest for a rookie to have a positive impact at QB. So I can see the Young landslide.

McNeil would have been my choice, as well.
