Madden07 for PS3

Has anyone played this game?

It's terrible IMO. The draft will have 20 DE's projected in the top 30 picks EVERY year. The player ratings seldom increase and decrease at a dramatic pace. Every top 10 pick I had taken in 5 years came in at around a 84 and by the 5th year was a 7879. The only players I seen increase in values were the entire Raider offensive line and Mike McMahon, I cant believe EA would relase such a piece of crap game for PS3.

Clearly, EA is trying to sabotage the PS3. Madden for every other console was a masterpiece beyond anything we've ever seen, as we all have come to expect.

I guess when you have a monopoly on NFL games for consoles, there's not much of an incentive to make sure your product is the best out there.

Since some years ago I play Madden games like when I play a shooter, just to have some fun not taking care about stats, playing a franchise, etc and that way I can enjoy them for some fast football action with less frustration. I refuse to attempt to play more than a season or in franchise mode as every new version is more buggy than ever.

If you want to enjoy madden, just look at the nice graphics and mash your pad and buttons, but don't ever try to look at stats, player development or anything related to football simulation if you dont' want to get frustrated fast. Of course this is so sad but it's EA.

I agree, i love "watching" this game, but can't get into any other part of it.........especially the Superstar mode. Popping in on a game where my youngest son had 281 yards on 12 carries told me all I needed to know...

To be fair, I'm sure your youngest son wasn't using All-Madden difficulty...either that or he has some really good hand-eye coordination.

That being said, Madden on the PS3 and 360 is a piece of shit. To the OP, the draft on the 360 is a lot better if you're using draft files from your NCAA dynasty. Regardless, the game has so much wrong with it that it isn't worth playing.

Just to appease everyone, I'll make a cameo appearance in this thread. I think my opinion in this case has been stated quite clearly.

Can you control all 32 teams in Madden 2007 360? Sadly, I am hearing the call of the dark side. Threads saying it plays okay on the field make me think maybe if I control the offseason stuff, it could be an okay game... I may not be able to resist much longer...

Kodos, don't waste your money if you want it for serious dynasty play.

BYU, maybe your son plays like mine. In College Hoops, he puts all of the sliders to the max for the human play and puts them all at the min for the AI. Then, he creates a team of superstar players. Since Duke is my favorite team, he plays them every time and beats them 213-6.

I always get halftime updates. "I'm beating your favorite team 98-0 at halftime. Boy, they really suck."

How in the world can you enjoy playing like that.

I know Madden sucks. It's just that football is my bread and butter as far as videogames, and it's hard to resist something that at least looks next gen. I would buy it used so that EA doesn't gain anything from the sale...

I am pretty sure you can, however the development of the players will completely mess up any idea of you being able to control all 32 teams and make this work.

For instance, 1st round pick Huff from Oakland started out a rookie at 82, 5 years later he is a 74. I went through 5 offseasons, EVERY year Kipers draft projections have DE's 20-25 out of the top 30 players. You cant get a DT in the free agent pool or by drafted. By the 5th season a good DT is a 76. QB progression is just horrible, the only QB I seen get better was Mike McMahon. Also by year number 5 in order to compete you end up paying 10-15 million for old players like Ray Lewis, Edgerrin James, Aaron Brooks because they are still amongst the best players at their postion in the game since the rookies or draft picks NEVER develop. Stay far away from this game

Yes, you can. However, things like fatigue still being poorly implemented (even after the patch), the doubling of all simulated interceptions, poor simulated stats in general, and the necessity of using NCAA drafts (although this is a minor factor) just turned me off from it even though I was willing to manage all 32 teams.

Madden07 for PS2 is running fine in dynasty mode for me. Admittedly I do not look at stats except during free agency, and even then I'm more concerned with the OVR number then what they actually did.

Yep. I'm running a Madden 2006 PS2 dynasty right now. Just wish it looked a little prettier...

The PC version doesn't look any prettier than the PS2 version (or not much prettier) but it does play a good game of football in my opinion, and with mods you can get decent simulated stats. However, personally, I'm just hoping that we get a generic game next year from 2ksports.

Me too. And I hope it motivates EA to get off their butts and put out a true next-gen game.

I think that if you have $40-$60 to waste, go ahead and buy it. If not, then hold onto your money or buy something else. It invariably comes down to disposable income. That being said, the game is fun if you're playing against someone else (that you know, not a random dude on Xbox Live).

He used to do that with the PS 2 version and be happy beating teams 114-0 with a team that featured Vick, LT, Owens, Lewis etc.....Made me curious so I checked this version, sliders were cool, but he is just playing on the easy setting......Went in and adjusted it to all Madden.......We will see how that plays out his next game

Isn't it a sin to type M-A-D-D-E-N at FOFC?

I used to have so much fun with Madden when it was on the Sega Genesis. Ahhh... the days.

Another good Sega game was the first round of NHL games....complete with pools of blood on the Ice after a scrap.

Just bought the Hall of Fame edition new at gamestop for $29.95. Just bought a ps2 there too. My first console in two years and my first new console football game in four. Yep, I'm happy.

I was just thinking about this a couple of days ago. I went to a hockey game here in Houston and it reminded me how fun NHL95 was. I've been browsing eBay this morning looking for a deal on a Genesis and a handful of games.

The PC version is still pretty fun if you are in an online league with some good owners. Not perfect, but worth what I paid for it.
