Are there any leagues using FOF 2004??

Hi, I'm new to these boards, but I have played Front Office Football single player for a couple of years now. Great game! I was hoping if anybody could tell me if there are still any FOF 2004 Leagues around? I notice most are switching to 2007 version, but I'm sticking to 2k4 and hope I can join any league that uses it still.

I tried the demo of 2k7, but I couldn't get past the introductory menu of the game, guess its an OS issue. So I keep playing 2004, and why not, its still a pretty darn good Text based game.

Anyway, are there any Multiplayer leagues left that still use the 2004 version? Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I checked out there site, but they indicate that they are going to switch to FOF 2007 in the future.

Are there any more "Permanent" FOF 2004 leagues around?

The ICFM is still running 04. No mention on switching yet. Were small but those of us there have been active for 12 seasons or so. Good time to get in. Playoffs are just starting. Give it a look, http://icfm.5gbfree.com/icfm.htm

Thanks for the link to the ICFM. This league (hopefully if it stays with 2k4) is just what I'm looking for. I kinda like the rules they use. 3 Games a week might be a bit fast for me (was hoping it would be twice a week) but I think I could manage.

No worries we are not simming 3 games a week I think we did that the 1st season we had made the change to FOF from Mogul...But we are simming 2 games a week. Have you emailed the Commish yet... If he has not gotten back to you don't worry he will... He is excellent about responding to emails...Something may have come up if he hasn't yet

There's like 10-12 of us that have been in WigFL forever, and I doubt that we'll ever switch to 2007. But it's not as active as the other leagues, but it always seems to get simmed 3 games a week.

No, I haven't emailed him just yet. I can't join right now, but I'm hoping to join in a few weeks. But I will still send him an email asking if I can join. It looks like he has quite a few open spots in the league.

Yep, theres a lot of teams open but dont take that a bad way. We were down to 5 or 6 when we made the switch from mogul and have been slowly growing, now at 14. If your looking for a challenge then jump into the Packers big chair. MIN, DET & my CHI team are all run by long timers.

Season should end next week. Anyone looking to get back into a 04 league couldnt ask for a better timimg.

Thanks for the info Jam. I was hoping Carolina would be open, but it appears to be taken. I was thinking of choosing Greenbay or Jacksonville if I join the league.

Question, since I have never played Multiplayer FOF before, is it much different them Single player?

A switch from Mogul to FOF2k4? I'm curious, what does that mean?

Had a nice reply all typed up for both of you then lost it during the submit. rrrrrr. Heres a short version.

MIJB#19 The ICFM started life in 1999 using Sport Mogul's orginal Football Mogul. In 2005 we were forced, due to lack of intrest in Mogul, to switch to a new program & choose FOF2k4. We started from scratch with a draft & are now finishing our 4th season.

Magnum357. Theres a differance but in a great way. Much more fun to compete against humans then the AI.

I would download the file & look over your options before commiting to a team. Are you a rebuilder or prefer a playoff ready team? Defense, running or passing? Look for what suits your style then put your stamp on it. The biggest thing might be getting into whatever league you choose ASAP. Right now in the ICFM theres still time to restructer contracts and CAP space is King. Also, if your interested in a certian team be sure to ask about it. Ya never know, theres GM's in every league that become inactive.

Hint for the future, with long posts, copy past your blabla into notepad before you hit submit. I've learned it the hard way too.

Ah, I see. I was wondering whether you guys took the time to make a FOF roster file with the players and teams you already had time invested in. I guess you didn't. Seeing you (plural) are in your 4th season already, I guess going back to the alternate route isn't an option.

Tarcone just email the commish, [email protected] , or me, [email protected] , and you'll be in quick. Our fourm took a hit when the BBS service upgraded and it's still not 100% yet.
