For The Love Of The Game

I forgot John C. Reilly was in the movie.

But she's silly for not getting on the plane, because she wants to watch the perfect game. I mean, didn't they have TVs on the planes in the late 1990s?

that movie does a perfect job of depicting your typical obnoxious yankee fan.

Haha. Totally. I didn't even think of that. Those folks didn't have to do much acting. "Hey, just go be a Yankee fan."

I think that what's really fun. Now that you have Roger Clemens pitching for half seasons as if he's some sort of debutante well into his 40s, Billy Chapel being 40 isn't as impressive anymore.

I liked it. But then I'm a sap for a decent romantic comedy. I thought the way they told the story was pretty interesting.

I liked this movie too. Dunno why, but I'm a sucker for any Costner baseball movie.

I think only international flights have a TV... and only certain carriers have a personal TV instead of a big screen.

I agree that way the story was told in an interesting and unique way, at least to me. The story itself, though, I didn't care much for.

Was there really any doubt as to whether or not he was going to throw a perfect game?

Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination, Grasshopper...

I like this movie too. I've never been real sure why other than the way it's told and Costner and baseball go well together. Can't wait until the movie where he's a manager that's sure to be on the horizon.

Which one, the guy in the airport bar, or the guy in the crowd ("Ok, Chapel. Come on. Perfect game.").

I said it partially joking but I really do think with the right script, it could fly. He finally makes it to the majors after 20 years in the minors as a manager. Key would be, they can't win the series at all but he would have to affect the guys. I really don't think it would be hateful if done correctly. Sarandon would have to be out of the picture I think, as would Nuke.
