The battery for my laptop is beeping...

It's plugged into the wall, but the little green light won't go on and it's not powering my laptop - and it's making this annoying high pitched beeping noise...the battery, not the laptop. Any ideas????

Sounds like you may have a short in your plug. I have had similar problems with mine (usually after the cats have been biting/pulling on it) and can sometimes get it working again by working out the kinks and wiggling it around.

I left it unplugged overnight, tried it this morning and it worked without any problems. I think my apt is on an indian burial ground or something.

I actually think it might have been a power problem...the outlet I had it plugged in is attached to a light switch, which was off...could that have been the problem??? It's a fairly new power source, purchased in either Dec. or Jan after my puppy chewed through the old one...

Might be all dried out. Dunk it in water. Real quick like, don't hold it under, or you could get moisture into the display capacitor.

This would have to be the problem. If the outlet was on a switch that was off, it would be just like it wasn't even plugged in.
