I'll stick with Tecmo

Not that they have done the world of Console racing any good. But I prefer the Owner/Trainer moniker to that of the Jockey.

I'll stick with Gallop Racer 2001 and in a lesser sense 2003 (Why did they make me go backwards around some tracks. It's just too goofy.)

Admittedly as I play more and more I do enjoy 2003 more than 2001.

Breeding is slightly better, Training is non-existant in 2001, I like the schedule a bit more, the horse traits can be interesting, and there is betting in season mode.

But having two points systems (jockey points and money) is wierd. Turning right on a U.S. Horse track is wierd. (I wouldn't have minded it if it was only the international races). And what is with the 60 mph start meter to jump out of the gate. I kind of liked just pressing up at the time the gates opened better.

Because of it's depth. I have almost exclusively gone to 2003 but I still reserve the right to complain about it.

Be sure and let me know, I've heard from some of the Tecmo Boards that some people really enjoy the jockey part of G1. That you do a lot more than the start moving your horse, and knowing when to whip. They also say that many consistantly play both games but for different experiences.
