uses Bitcomet. any ideas as to why this might occur? Could it be triggering some sort of firewall action or something?

EDIT: Have you tried using any other torrent programs (For perfectly LEGAL purposes only, that is)

that one is on Bellsouth DSL at work with a Netopia router.

You need to make sure you throttle your upload speed. Sometimes it clogs your upstream bandwidth in essence blocking any requests you send out making it appear that the whole thing is down.

...or does you modem drop the link light?
