The first sentence of a reply from someone in my University of Phoenix course:

"In my option I believe this to be a positive outcome of globalization, because I believe everyone should be educated, but the fact is, not all individuals who are labors have any interest in going to school."

Heh. University of Phoenix course is a multi-level oxymoron in and of itself.

If you don't want kids then the luck in fertility would be ironic.

Okay yeah, I deserved that one. Though to be fair, I kept getting timed out errors and the like, so I wanted to see if it was just me or if it the page itself was down.

As do I, but it is where I am attempting to get my degree. The unfortunate fact is that it's the only way I will be able to get my degree. All of the schools in DC are either terrible or incredibly expensive (or both).

Ouch, that's a rough situation to be in.

I understand why you went that route, then.

George Washington University, for example, is $50,000/yr for full time students. Georgetown and American are not much different. The only public schools are not much more than community colleges. The problem is that my "state" is less than ten square miles, and I would have to pay out of state tuition for anything in Maryland or Virginia. They would also be very inconvenient to get to.

Georgetown is a GORGEOUS campus. GWU reminded me of a very ugly hotel. American just seemed kind of... uh, yeah, to me.

There's no reciprocity agreements between D.C. and Maryland and/or Virginia?

Wow, you really get hosed.

The only reciprocity I am aware of is that if you graduate high school in the District you can receive in-state tuition in any state. I, however, graduated high school in Virginia 10 years ago.
