Touchpads on laptops........
Is there such a thing as a touchpad that is sensitive to where you press it? It seems as though, sometimes when I am using mine, it'll minimize something when I am not intending to, or making a window smaller when I am clicking to do something else. I'm running Vista, so maybe that's what is making mine go nuts too.

I was just wondering about mine actually. I just got this Friday and so far when I type a lot of the time I seem to graze the touchpad with my hand I guess and it will jump my typing further up the page.

You might have some gesture or hot spot feature turned on. Check your touchpad settings.

Funny, most people complain about not being able to find the hot spot.

I disable tapping entirely. Far too many times have I been scolling along and my finger hit the damn thing more than once and threw what I was doing into a heap.

I have to have tap as left click, can't stand doing it with the actual left button for some reason. This pad seems sensative though. Usually I have to turn it up a little when I get a new laptop, this one is going to need to be turned down.

Most laptops have a program in the sys tray that allows you to set the sensitivity and such.

I CANT stand a touch pad. I use the blue stick exclusively. In fact if touchpad were my only option, Id probably never use a laptop again.

My HP has a nice feature that "locks" the touchpad if you are typing. Very nice not having to worry about that sort of thing.

A lot allow mouse clicks through tapping - it'll be controllable somewhere in the depths of Vista (I don't use vista so can't say where I'm afraid). On XP its on the 'mouse' section of the control panel. |
