The most important question of all time

Surely by now, you've all seen this commercial:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Np7wdT-dKE

Why, when Peyton Manning comes into the living room, does he have to duck under the doorway? Is he supposed to be 9 feet tall? Or is he supposed to be entering Lilliput? This has bugged me for months. Anybody? Bueller?

It is because of his huge melon.

It seemed like he was entering Tiny House from those Geico commercials.

I never quite understood his need to duck either. It annoys me.

I think he is clearly on a platform behind the couch as he comes in... but I don't get the point of it at all?

He's Peyton Manning, he can stop, drop, roll, kick, jump, duck.. do whatever the hell he wants. I mean who doesn't like a six-five, 230-pound quarterbacks with a laser rocket arm?

This is the only Manning commercial I don't find incredibly annoying. I'm amused by his facial expressions.

I actually like most of Manning's commercials. The peptalk one where he advises the fat guys to buy bigger shirts cracks me up.

I'm kinda impressed by the fact that Peyton is pretty consistent in portraying himself as something of a dork (although a cocky dork) throughout all of his ads. I don't know how many top-flight athletes would cultivate that image.

Hmm...might have been a weak attempt at simulating a step-down living room.

Yeah, I've wondered about that commercial too. I mean, even with 8ft ceilings, an opening like that wouldn't be that low.
