Ping: Console gamers
Mrs. Leafs is going to be doing some part-time writing and reviews for a gaming web site. In addition to the reviews, they'd like her to post occasional news that she finds. However, she doesn't really follow the industry much. Being an internet guru, I advised her to just steal from others, and she's agreed to this plan.
I'm assuming this is all a big front to trick her into posting softcore pictures of herself, but in case it's not I'd like to help her out by setting up a feed for her. Does anyone have any sites/blogs they'd recommend that carry gaming news? Preferably one that allows RSS subscriptions?

With a strong pro-EA bias in my opinion. Since you said you don't mind theft, I'd recommend checking out Operation Sports' front page each morning. They hit the big stories from some of the major console (and PC sometimes) sites. Also, they'll at least give some ideas on other sites to go visit. |

Kotaku.com, Joystiq.com and Destructoid.com all have relatively timely news on the console front.

Why not tell her to apply for the GM position of the Leafs...can't do any worse than what they have in there now?

I have 1up.com in my netvibes, but I can't say that I'm all that impressed by them so far.

I'd recommend Joystiq for pure gaming info, it's where I get most of my info (though I read many others regularly, too, see below for my gaming-related RSS subscriptions). Engadget seems to always break new info about the XBox 360, though. They're part of Weblogs, Inc. so are a sister-site to Joystiq, sometimes it's just a matter of who hits "post" first...
In my Bloglines, I subscribe to the following game-related sites: CheapAssGamer.com (not much news, more sale info, though in their forums they have a section for news) Engadget.com (see above comment) Gamers With Jobs (not a lot of news, but a lot of interesting stuff) Joystiq (where I'd recommend first) Kotaku (the 2nd place I'd go) Penny Arcade (they seem to get industry news sometimes quicker than others, and have interesting commentary) Playstation.Blog (info from Sony about their stuff...) Slashdot: Games (lots of info and commentary) XBox Live's Major Nelson (I hate him but every now and then he says something interesting, I usually skim at best) /tk

Kotaku is a Gawker site, but I really enjoy it.
