Cleaning a leather jacket

I have a leather jacket that I spray some protectant stuff on. I was told it can get a bit wet and it'll be fine. So last night, it rains as I'm walking to my car. Not a heavy rain. This morning, I noticed that there's some dirt on the jacket. Kind of like a car after rain.

My questions is how do you clean these small dirt spots on leather?

I used to manage a leather store (yes, Wilson's Leather). Just take a soft brush and you should be able to gently brush the dirt off without damaging the leather. If that doesn't work, you can go online and buy a cheap leather cleaning kit - the ones we used to sell were like $5 or $10, it has this block of dry soap kind of stuff that you can rub on the spot, then use the soft brush to brush it all away. That stuff works on suede too, just an FYI

Thanks olie, I'll try a soft brush, like a toothbrush.

That should work. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll look online and find that cleaner kit I was talking about.

Also, after you get the dirt off you'll need to reapply the waterproofing spray.
