Trading and rookie signings

1st off, LOVE the game. unfortunatley I've been using another companies football simulator and its been horrible.

Are there any general stratagies I shold be using to initiate a trade. it seems that even for a "good" player I have to give away my entire future of draft picks. what should I be looking for?

also is there a way to shop draft picks, instead of players?

Signing my first round picks has been another issue. I've played 2 seasons so far and my 1st and 2nd round picks held out well into the season both years. is this something I should expect alot of?

Don't really have much advice for the trading question...it seemed pretty fair to me (excluding future picks...you can get these pretty easily).

As for the holdouts, the 4th option (most money, fewest years) will always get them to sign. What I usually do is go for the cheaper option right at the beginning of 2nd FA and then give the 4th option right before training camp if they don't budge.

What players want is a short contract. This seems counterintuitive to some players new to FOF or to the general world of football contracts, but it does make sense. *Every* rookie player will accept the high money, short-duration contract if you offer it. It's the one listed last on the pull-down menu, and it's what he really wants.

If your guys are holding out on you, it's simply because you are not "giving in" and offering them the rich, short deal.
