Oops.

Applied for a job in Green Bay a couple of days ago, filled out the initial profile, and got two emails:

the newer one was titled "Thank you for your interest in ____"
the older one was an invitation to continue the application process.

Because the Application invitation came in first, I assumed that one was sent after I initially created the profile and that the newer one came in after I finished answering the questions about pay and relocation and all of that.

No, it turns out there was actually another step to the process they wanted me to go through. I figured THAT out when I got a repeat of the application invitation.

If the first two emails would've arrived in the opposite order, I'd have had this done two days ago. Where's my 'face is red' smiley?

Man, that was dumb.

Why would anyone apply for a job in Green Bay?

Because I'm trying to move to Wisconsin, and if I'm doing that, I might as well move to the city that has NFL football?

The Packers really are desperate for a new QB.

If you ever see me under center for an NFL team, sell your season tickets while you can.

Green Bay is not really a city. Madison and Milwaukee would be much nicer places to live imo.

Milwaukee sucks.

Madison's pretty cool though.

In Milwaukee, no matter where you live, there's a bar you can walk to.

True, but in that same amount of distance you could walk to at least one place where you are likely to get shot.

Where in Green Bay are you looking to apply? I'm curious if I'd have any familiarity with the company.

I have no specific preference right now. I'm flying out there on Monday to pound the pavement and see if I can find something full-time, but in the meantime I've submitted a couple of applications for positions that look interesting.

If you know of anything that might be available, definitely let me know.

You can say that about most of Wisconsin.

What types of positions are you looking for?

Pretty much anything that doesn't involve food service or cleaning toilets. I don't have my degree yet (but I intend to finish it once I get settled in), so that might hamper me, but I'm willing to try just about anything, so be it it pays the bills.

Ask the Schneider family if you can become one of them, that sounds like a good gig to me.

Still progressing through the system on the job in my first post, as they called me yesterday afternoon to see if I was still interested.

Picked up/filled out applications for a couple others while I was in Green Bay this morning. Hopefully this is going to be a good week.
