I hate Ants!!!

We move into to a new place about 2 months ago. Within th first week we start to notice ants on the floor, throughout the house. It was never more than 1 or 2 at a time but I figued they were just the scouts.

The association sprayed and caulked up some ares where they were getting in at. Less than a week after that we no longer had just the 1 or 2 in places but now we had a Conga line going to the dog's bowl. I sprayed again and saw nothing outside of the sliding glass door but did see a place where they did not caulk all the way so I figured that must be it.

Now it's another week later and they are back in force, againin the dog's bowl. This time I see they are coming from an edge of a counter (at the floor) where there is a small crack, just large enough for them. They were coming out of that crack with a purpose. Again I sprayed, vacuumed and patched and we have more people coming out Friday.

I don't know much about ants except they are pests. Is is possible that they actually are living under the house and are coming up through cracks in the foundation? If so, what is the best approach? The last group that came out acted like it couldn't be that, it had to be that one spot they caulked and sprayed.

It just seems like they have scouts all over my house and that seems like way too may to just be coming in from one spot on the side of the house.

Any experts on this matter out there? Any suggestions?

works on Fleas too, minus the sugar. Spread it all over my lot prior to sod being laid and then once on top of the sod and Ive never had a flea in the house or on a dog....ever.

Now snakes, on the other hand.

Back in the good 'ol days, my grandpa would just pour gasoline wherever he saw them and their nests.

We had a horrible ant problem at our old apartment, we had a top floor unit that was surrounded by huge trees...really great until the damn things would come in from the windows and march across an entire room to get to the dog/cat food. No matter where I moved it, they found it. At one point we declared "war", my son vaccuumed the suckers off the wall while I sprayed ant killer anywhere I saw them coming from. Put about 20 pet-friendly ant traps around the apartment, and we never saw them again.

My mom bought a butt-load of diazinon before it was banned, and that stuff kills every creepy-crawly within 10 yards.

I'm having the same problem. But, we don't want to use the sprays because my g/f is sensitive to them. I mixed water, dishwashing soap, and 5 drops of lavendar oil in a spray bottle. I hit them immediately and they flee. I sprayed a little where they were coming in and they have been reduced (we see some strays).

Well, the worker ants are male, right? I'd leave too if you sprayed me with that when I walked in your house.

As a person formerly in the PC industry, I agree baits and traps will be your best method of treatment for most ants. It takes awhile to eliminate the colony but sprays just cause the colony to divide and multiply.

There are a few who are over the top gay in that show, but I don't think they hold a candle to The Village People or Adam Ant and his motley crew.

I think Adam Ant is married -- his wife changed his name to Eve. That's pretty dumb, but he still made some good music.
