Something happened in the conversion that's causing posts with tables to become blank. Is there a setting somewhere that possibly changed this? I have forums set to allow HTML. Li'l help?

Dola: It's not happening for very small tables, but it is for larger ones. For example, this works...

TEAM NAME NICKNAME CITY
Baltimore Blue Claws Baltimore
Massachusetts Pilgrims Boston
New York Enforcers New York
Philadelphia Freedom Philadelphia
Toronto Fire Toronto
Washington Federals Washington

Charlotte Cougars Charlotte
Georgia Rattlesnakes Atlanta
Havana Pirates Havana
Lowcountry Gators Charleston, SC
Nashville Hawks Nashville
Orlando Seminoles Orlando

Dallas Oil Kings Dallas
Houston Lone Stars Houston
Louisiana Crawfish New Orleans
Mexico City Aztecs Mexico City
Oklahoma Tornado Oklahoma City
Phoenix Apaches Phoenix

Los Angeles Whales Los Angeles
Oakland Black Knights Oakland
San Diego Sunshine San Diego
San Francisco Gold Rush San Francisco
Seattle Steelheads Seattle
Vancouver Lumberjacks Vancouver

I can get this fixed. Is there an example on here of a blank table that I can see?

There ya go. The post above has text and a table. The table is gone, though.

That's weird it's stripping it out, because even if I try to quote the blank one it's not even showing in the quote before I post...

When this happens, you see nothing in the preview, either. Whatever goes from the WYSIWYG editor to an actual HTML post just drops the table.

It's not just with tables. I tried to post a very long post, with lots of VB formatting and it blanked it out after a certain amount. I ended up having to split the post into two posts in order to get it to work.

Not sure if this is related, but I'm seeing nothing but a blank ad at the top of the page this morning. I say screw the tables.

That's really strange. I just double-checked: max post length is disabled. We don't have a max post length here, and haven't in years.

Nope. Just tried one of my Excel Tables. 39 rows from a ChangeTracker 2 report, no dice.

My post was from Open Office (which is what I always use). Trying Excel 2003 now....

I'm wondering if it isn't a post length but amount of data in a post, which is causing it? In this way my very long post, chock full of formatting, is triggering the same problem as a large table?

I don't know thing one about VBulletin, but is there anything different about the database now? Perhaps the field length has been reduced there?

Well, post length = number of characters. Formatting characters count in that too. And regardless, it's set to no limit:

Maximum Characters Per Post
Posts that contain more characters than the value specified here will be rejected with a message telling the user to shorten their post.

Set the value to 0 to disable this function.

Bronco92 and I have been communicating. Nothing was touched intentionally that should have caused this. hmmmm....

By change at the DB level I should clarify that maybe the field where post data is stored has changed data type to something like a varchar(XXX) where XXX is a set limit?

Not sure on that.

Anyway, we're going to do something that's long overdue anyway and hope it "fixes itself" in the process: upgrade to the latest version of vbulletin. As a part of that upgrade, we're going to lose the existing skins. I'm bumping that thread now.

From my experiences in the past most existing skins work perfectly fine after upgrading VB, true there are things you should fix, but usually they work out of the box, try and let it just update them for you... Unless you have already verified they aren't going to work in 3.7...?
