NOFL: Week 4 has started (deadline is 8/29/08 at 10:00 PM)

Week 4 has started with the sliders equalized for human/CPU games. There are 6 teams with byes and 6 teams with CPU games, so I'm hopeful this will be another quick week. We've kept up a good pace the last few weeks, and I think the momentum is helpful for the league.

I'll recruit tomorrow.

Go Sir Fozzie! I want you to win so you move up in the rankings! I've gotten some votes, so hopefully I'll crack the top 25 this week or next week.

I'll be playing tonight (I've been so busy at work, I can't even remember who the opponent is in NOFL this week)

Who are you? Texas A&M? I would like to say Miami (FL), but I'm not 100% sure.

UCF drove the length of the field on their opening drive before settling for an early field goal following a goaline stand. Soon, an interception thrown by senior QB Chris Crane set them up with great field position, and they quickly took advantage and went up 10-0. We climbed to within 3 before the end of the half on a Josh Haden rushing touchdown.

We opened the second half with another drive that finished with a 38-yard Haden rushing touchdown that put us on top for the first time, 14-10. From there, it went back and forth. Midway through the 4th, UCF went on top once more, 24-21. Needing only a field goal to pull into a tie, we used a ball control offense to drive into field goal range. We focused on picking up first downs and running the clock, because our defense had been giving up a ton of yardage all day. With 40 seconds left, Haden took it in once again from several yards out.

UCF moved down the field, but was not terribly efficient with their timeouts. A last gasp throw to the endzone as time expired got knocked down to preserve a 28-24 win.

With the number one RB in the nation in attendance, Haden rushed for over 100 yards and 3 TDs. Excellent work, boyz!

Can someone let me know if I had any soft or hard commits for this week? Thanks

3-0 Baybee! The Miami QB threw a ton of passes.. lucky for us, he threw a bunch of them to us. 41-31, with 6 INT's was the final, and we move 3-0

It won't let anyone view your recruiting board, so that is difficult to say. I don't see any guys on my list of 35 who have verballed with anyone, yet.

EF, do you know if the CPU will do my recruiting for me this week, or will no phone calls at all be made? I looked into recruiting options before I left and all I saw was "allow CPU to add/remove recruits from your board" and "allow CPU to offer scholarships" neither of which helped.

As long as you didn't turn off the CPU assistance (it is on by default and you can see it under your team philosophy in the recruiting tab), it will continue to make calls for you and even offer scholarships if you didn't make all of your offers.

I believe I turned that off as I'm usually a control freak when it comes to my team. Crappy indeed...

Maui is beautiful by the way, and I'm definetely enjoying my honeymoon.

Yeah, it's a shame if you turned that off. The CPU might still make calls, but I don't know if it will.

Obviously, for future reference anyone who knows they are going to be gone for a few weeks should turn that on (if they turned it off - it defaults to on) before they leave.

The only thing I could think of would be to remove Sun, let the CPU run the team, then re-add him when he returns.

I'm a bit worried that might make things go wonky, but I'm willing to try it if he wants me to do so.

Yeah I'd be too concerned that I'd come back and my entire draft board would be different people. I'll just deal with the possibility of two weeks without calls being made.

BigDPW is the only person we are waiting on. I'll be advancing at 10 tonight. I sent him a reminder PM 2 or 3 days ago. He hasn't been on Live in about a week, so stuff may have popped up.

Sorry to hold this up guys. I will be trying to get my recruiting and game in this afternoon.

I have been really busy this week preparing to start a new job next week. I will probably be busy for a few weeks until things settle in for me there but I will do my best to keep this moving.
