Hartford's "Harbor" of Legends

The honor of the first player to get inducted into the "HARBOR" goes to, OF-Jeremy O'Herilhy.

O'Herilhy roamed the OF for the Pooners for 10 seasons before a cost cutting move had him play his final season in Columbus.

When Jeremy Retired he was most known for being the All time leader in Stolen bases in FOOL History with a mark of 642 swipes.

He also holds the all time Pooner marks for:

Career VORP with 266.2
Games played with 1436
At bats with 5291
Runs with 963
Hits with 1,461
Singles with 1,013
Home Runs with 153
RBI's with 733
Stolen Bases with 593
Walks with 541

He finished up second all time for the Pooners in:

Doubles with 244
Triples with 51

His totals at the time of this honor are:

26th all time on the Most Games Played list
23rd all time on the Hits list
20th all time on the Singles list
30th all time on the Home run list (pretty impressive for a leadoff hitter)
11th all time on the Runs list
1st all time on the Stolen Base list.

He was a 3 time all star selection and, and won Fielder of the year twice (he would have won more of those however I never had a CF)

There is no question Jeremy Will be one of the top players to have ever played in a Pooner Uniform and its only fair that he be the first to Go into the Harbor.

The second player to be enshrined into the HARBOR is 1b Andy Nolan

Nolan played 1b for the Pooners for 6 seasons before a serious coke problem ended his career.

In those short 6 seasons though Andy made a huge name for himself.

At the time of this Honor Andy held the FOOL league marks for

Most homers in a season with 41 in 1967
Most RBI's in a season with 144 in 1966

On the List of Pooner Accomplihsments though he ranked:

3rd in SLG% with the Pooners with a .487 mark
3rd in games played with 832
7th in runs Runs with 375
5th in Hits with 805
6th in Sigles with 455
3rd in Doubles with 200
2nd in Homers with 133
2nd in RBI's with 530

Finally in his 6 years he was a 2 time all star and a 2 time League MVP.

Andy also Retired as the only player in FOOL League History to have a pop song wrote about him.

Andy Nolan
He's a friend of mine
Wouldn't you like to see him
He's one of a kind
He'll soon be one of the greatest all-time

Andy Nolan
One of the best
Hartford's proudest
we'll never forget

'Cuz Andy's One of a kind
Yeah!

Coke or not he still deserves to be in the HARBOR

Let this be a lesson to all kids out here. Coke can derail your career and shorten your life.

God speed, Andy Nolan. God speed.
