NOFL: Week 11 has started. Deadline is 10/4/08 at 10:00 PM
Several big games this week, but everyone is facing the CPU. The biggest game is KingNeb's undefeated Kentucky squad vs 7-2 Georgia.
Edit: Please note I edited the deadline due to the Live outage on Monday. I had previously said that I was going to give an extra day due to the outage. Of course, if everyone is done earlier, we'll advance earlier (personally due to my wife's birthday this week I won't get my game in until Friday night.)

In Washington recruiting news, we landed a huge prospect, the #18 QB in the nation who is one of the best scrambling QB's in this class while having a powerful arm. He will be our clear successor for Locker whenever he goes pro.

I just got KO'd from Live... playing Oklahoma in the #2 game of the week. (#10 v #16, basically, winner takes the Big 12 South) Probably be Tuesday night before I can get it in now.

Lost a heartbreaker to UCLA 27-24 on a last minute FG. A few horrible missed tackles on fourth down almost made me throw my controller through the TV. Oh well... would have been nice to win against a ranked team.

I hope that wasn't Dunn. I was aiming for a scrambling QB and have scheduled his visit on Week 14 against Oklahoma. |

I don't think it was. I remember all of his stats except for his name. He is 6'3 216. I think his name is Heath Miller or something close to that. |

Was gonna recruit and play my game this afternoon but it seems XBL is down for maintenance. Hopefully I can find some time to play prior to 10/3...

Holy shit. What a game.
my star running back, out for the rest of the regular season early. OU started blitzing on every single down. I mean every single down. Combined with a play where their star RB caught a five yard pass, and broke like nine tackles on his way to a 65 yard score, and we were down 7-6 after one, we decided we were just going to throw short passes.. if no one was immediately available, our QB would scramble to see if a short pass would open up, and Lane, our back up RB got the ball again, and again, and again... His 166 yards (combined with two QB Sneak TD's from McGee), led us to control the ball for most of the 2nd half, and we won 31-14, to move to 9-1... with the win we're in front of the Big 12 South by a full game.. but can we hold on?

It's funny how much better both of us do with our non-Boston College squads.

My Kentucky squad dominated Georgia 42-7. This was probably the best game I've ever played on NCAA 09. I just dominated all facets of the game and I won time of possession 20 minutes to 8 minutes. Definitely the most lopsided T.O.P. I've ever had.
It was great to have our impact QB back after missing 4 games with an injury. He managed the game very well, only throwing 2 incomplete passes. Something like 15-17 for 230 yards. He didn't throw any TD passes but he did run for 1. My RB got it done, running 30 or so times for around 150 yards and 5 (!!!) TD's. I've never had a RB with a performance like that. My defense gave up a TD in the 4th, but it didn't matter. I was very nervous coming into this game, but my team played really well. As long as we can win 1 of the next 2 games (either against Vandy or Tennessee), then we will be playing in the SEC title game. Very very excited about that. I just hope that if we can manage to go 13-0 that we play for the national championship. It would be a bummer to win them all and not play for the championship. I should be able to beat Vandy pretty easily. Tennessee is very talented (though underperforming at 4-5) and it's a rivalry game, so anything can happen. Of course the SEC title game will be a challenge. Feeling much better since all my human games are out of the way and my games against Florida & Georgia are over. 10 down & 3 to go! |

I've actually wanted to throw my controller about 500 times with BC. We'd be a .500 team in the first half counted for the game.. in the 2nd half we just get KILLED.

I had already previously said that I was going to make allowances for the day of downtime on Xbox Live, but forgot to factor that into the date. The deadline will be on Saturday night at 10/4/08 if anyone needs the extra day. |

Welp. We got KILLED in the second half by Notre Dame, but Xbox Live went down during the game. So... I guess we get another crack at them. |

I'm going to be out of town for a while starting today. I will be without internet until probably Sunday night or Monday (gasp!). I will be at my brother's starting Sunday night or Monday and he has a 360. So I will still be good to play my next game. Even if it's advanced tonight (which I doubt), that means the deadline will be Monday, which will be enough time for me to play. I'll log onto FOFC when I can Sunday/Monday. Just make sure not to make next week's deadline before Monday. Thanks!

Like I said in a PM to you, due to my wife's birthday being tomorrow, I won't have a chance to do my stuff tonight or tomorrow. I'll be doing my stuff for both leagues Friday night. So, there is no chance that we'll be advancing too early this week.

Second time XBox Live has dropped me in the middle of a game. Is anyone else having issues with XBL dropping, or might it be my connection?

It is down hard right now, per Kotaku. Commishes will probably need to extend the deadlines.

The Stanford Cardinal traveled up to Oregon to play the upset minded Ducks this evening...and they damn near pulled it off. After being up 30-10, the Cardinal started getting lazy and threw a pick, which was then followed by a damn near unstoppable barage of long drives. The Ducks came to within a touchdown with 23 seconds left but were unable to recover the onside kick. We also lost our starting HB Anthony Kimble for 4 weeks to a sprained knee. That's gunna hurt for our game next week against USC...ouch.
Final score 30-23

With all of the downtimes, I'm willing to give anyone an extra day beyond Saturday if needed, but am hopeful that we will be done before that.

Live is back up now. Oklahoma State beat Texas Tech 51-10. We held Harrell to just under 300 yards passing (290), but sacked him 4 times and intercepted him 3 times.
I don't think I have a shot at the B12 Championship game even if I win out. I think it'll be Mizzou and Texas A&M. Good luck Foz. I have two guys in the running for the Thorpe award, but they won't win it...kingneb will win it. Curses! |

I'll try to hold the Human banner high.. I realized I still have Texas left, if I lose that one it'll be an unholy clusterfuck to determine who goes to the B12 championship game.. 4 or 5 teams with two losses I think

If I'm not too tired, I'll try to get my game in tonight. But it may end up being tomorrow. I already played it once and had Live go down midway through the game.

I just beat ASU 45-17 behind a huge day from Locker who had 139 yards passing and 113 on the ground and 3 TD's total. 3 people still have to play, so I imagine we won't advance until tomorrow. However, if you play and notice you are the last one to play please post that in this thread and I'll get back on the 360 as I should be up for a few more hours.

We fell WAY behind ND in the first half, but clawed our way back to take a 31-30 lead. ND then proceeded to get the lead back with a 50 yard field goal to take a 33-31 lead. In our final drive, on 4th and long, we found our RB wide open down the middle. A perfect pass hit him right in the hands... and then dropped to the ground. A nice capsule of our season. We suck. I HATE BOSTON COLLEGE.

I ended up beating Duke in a close one. Unfortunately it was after two disconnects earlier in the week. I am impressed by the guys we have in the league that are competing for conference titles! I had a hard time beating Duke - which surpisingly was already bowl eligible at 6-2 going into our game...
