We don't play well, but Michigan knocks off #15 Wisconsin 42-35 behind 3 Steve Threet TD passes, and 2 Kevin Grady TD runs. Brandon Minor chipped in with 100 yards rushing to make it an all around team effort on offense.
Now we get ready for Purdue and a bunch of visitors. |

Clemson handled Wake Forest at home 34-9. Our defense lived up to it's billing, but we still don't have a surefire bet a QB. It's tough when you've got one guy that makes all the throws, but one guy who can make plays with his feet. We need to find a way to either combine Al Francis and Willy Korn, or tailor our gameplan.
Recruiting is looking good for us, though, as I think we may wind up signing two 5 star cornerbacks, and a 5 star athlete. Somehow, we may wind up winning more than the 9 games I originally predicted.

Kodos, I should be good to play our game today, or tomorrow. Let me know what you're preference is. I'll be home all day both days, as laryngitis has completely eliminated my voice.

Yep. SirFozzie has a brutal schedule this year, mostly due to a lot of good teams being in the ACC right now.

Any update on potentially playing tonight Kodos? I'd like to give the lady a heads up if so.

Hmmm...apparently the wife will be getting home right at 8pm, and it's my turn to whip something up for dinner. Tomorrow looks golden for me though Kodos, especially around 11pm eastern. Let me know what you think.

Tomorrow would be much, much better if you could go anywhere between 10-11pm EST.

Yep, great game man.
Kodos picked me off in the redzone and took it back 90 yards for the TD, which put him up 24-14 late in the 3rd quarter. When you were taking that thing back, that was the first time I actually thought you might put it away. You kept having long, clock eatting, sustained drives...converting on every single freakin 3rd down. What it broke down to in my opinion is every time you had a big long TD drive, or a big play, I came back 30 seconds later with a big play of my own. Definitely a hell of a game, that could have gone either way if it weren't for 2 or 3 plays. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Dammit. We had them down 24-14 with less than three left in the third, but their big play ability and a couple costly turnovers cost us the chance for an upset in Happy Valley. Good game, Sun. At least we gave you a pretty good fight this time. Can't help but feel like I threw away a win there. Final score, 38-27, Penn State.

Interesting. Our posts switched order.
The kick return and that long bomb killed us. Stupid kick coverage. I adjusted the rest of the game, but that quick 7 hurt. Last edited by Kodos : 11-14-2008 at 12:29 AM. |

I noticed the order switching thing...really weird. It gave me an error message the first couple times I tried to post, then it said there was a duplicate. I refreshed the page and it looked like I had just gone back in time 20 minutes and posted before you
The early kick return after your long drive was big for sure, but that 1 play drive where I connected on the bomb was the tideturner IMO. Momentum switched right bck to me, and playing in Happy Valley it's hard to keep that from making a big difference. On the next drive (really about 15 seconds later) your QB fumbled on first down, followed by another 1 play drive on my part for a TD. That was the game right there.

Yeah, that fumble was terrible. I think I was looking downfield and unaware just how close your guys were. I spaced out for a split second and it cost me bigtime. The story of the game was your quick strikes versus my sustained drives. Even if you are moving the ball effectively, you are bound to screw up at some point.

Once you get a little more team speed you're going to be a bitch to stop.
By the way...that #1 HB in the nation that we all talked about a few weeks ago....yeah he commited to OSU. Wonderful.

Yeah, we don't have the speed yet, especially in our secondary. As you saw, FS Nick Polk is a ball hawk, but he's not lightning fast. Recruiting in the secondary has been hard so far for me. We need to get that turned around.

Gophers will be going for 4-0 against Northwestern. We almost beat the Wildcats at home last year. We're hoping to win in Evanston this time around. Goooooo Gophers!

Heh i forgot that I was annoyed and didn't update in the thread when I played tihs game. Despite being 0-3, UNC is rated ~86 overall and has a defense rated near 90 that has a shitton of speed. It was a defenseive struggle for awhile, 6-6 midway through the 2nd quarter I think. I went up 13-6 and UNC ran wild on me, my offense was completely dead in the 2nd half, I just couldn't run the option consistantly without their DE's running me down. I think the final was 34-20 UNC, grr! Ah well, my goal with this team is 8-4 and that's still a very reasonable expectation.

It was a tough loss. The Cajuns scored on the final play of a game, on a 80-some yard pass in the between the safeties. Three overtimes in and we just fumbled it up. We had that game. The defense just couldn't get stop the big plays when needed to. For whatever reason, I just can't beat the weakest team on my schedule. I can upset top 20 teams, but we have that one upset. I do know I want a rematch with them next year in South Bend. I red-shirted most of recruits this year. Last edited by Galaxy : 11-17-2008 at 01:38 PM. |
