IU gets its first commit from Justin Sampson, a 4 Star QB ranked #12 amongst QBs. Take that, BC!

Ahh, there's the big recruit signing for the Yellow Jackets:
5* FS Greg Rembert commits to Georgia Tech! We've now got two commits, the #1 DT and #1 FS in the land. Rembert is the #3 recruit in the nation. A+ Awareness is what jumps out at me. He also has B or B+ ratings in speed, accel, agility, overall, and man coverage. B- in zone coverage. We also have soft commits from 2 4* Corners, one of which we look to be in tough competition with Indiana for. |

Penn State continued their road trip, this week traveling to Illinois to play the 5-3 Fighting Illini.
The game started out with a bang, when PSU returned the openning kickoff all the way back for a TD. Amazingly, Illinois countered on the ensuing kickoff with a TD return of their own! Unfortunately for them, that was going to be the only time all game that the Illini would see the endzone. PSU QB George Smith had what was without a doubt, a career game. Here is his final stat line. 40/47 - 564 YDS - 8 TD Completing passes to 8 different receivers, and throwing a touchdown to 4 different recievers, Smith was absolutely perfect throughout the game. Every single pass was precisely placed where it needed to be, and quite often resulted in broken tackles and six points. Junior Heisman candidate Zach Wright caught 10 passes for 164 yards and 1 TD. Senior Wideout Frank Fuqua caught 9 passes for 136 yards and 5 TD's. Several other players hauled in multiple passes and a good number of yards. On top of all this, Sophmore Scatback Brad Riggs ran for 100+ yards and a TD, and also caught 11 balls for 169 yards. Defensively we dominated, sacking the QB 7 times, racking up 10 TFL's, and picking off 3 passes. The final score PSU - 70 ILL - 13

Georgia Tech traveled to Maryland this week and laid a beating on the Terrapins. It was 31-0 in the 3rd quarter before they broke a long TD run, their only good play of the game really on offense. My top HB ran for 142 yards, #2 back ran for 71 yards, and QB for 41.
Our defense racked up a whopping 10 sacks. Georgia Tech 34 Maryland 7 We should be ranked again next week, we were 27th in the coaches poll. We are ranked in the Media Poll(#23). Up to 7-2. |

I actually got a 4-star guard to commit two weeks ago. Forgot to mention.
Travis Smith, OG (Pass Block), 4-Star Roma, TX 6’7’’/267 lbs. Your going to have get a forklift to get by a guy of that size. Last edited by Galaxy : 12-04-2008 at 04:14 PM. |

Thanks for having me!
Florida dispatches Ole Miss 58-21. I am doing everything to try and win Harvin the Heisman. 200yds rcv and 3 TDs. Man does the CPU suck at roster management. I have 9WR and they were recruiting 10 more of their 35 available spots. I also only have 5 OL & 8DL. I will have to spend 2 seasons trying build line depth, even if they all suck! |

Seriously, how hard would it be for them to put in a little logic that aims for a certain number of players at each position dependent on the offensive and defensive philosophies for the team? |

Might move them all to DL & LB!!! I must tell you it was incredible playing as Florida. I have only played as NC and Wash in online and offline dynasties, and their speed and abilities are so much different, it was like a whole new game! I just hope I can keep them at that level! |

That logic is there, as you have to have minimums at positions, the recruiting logic should work the same way. Also they need to remove sides for OL and LB, as you can have 2 90+ LT's and a 60RT and the RT starts! |

From reading the boards over at OS, it sounds like part of the problem is the game just doesn't generate enough linemen.

Yes. Furthermore, the ones it generates tend to be lower ranked overall and that leads to the AI putting less of a premium on going after them. People have fixed the issue a bit by creating about a few dozen higher ranked linemen each year, but I've mostly given up (too many other games to play) on the single player dynasty so I only did that for 1 year. |

Beat the piss out of Arizona. My new QB, Blackman, is starting to round into shape. Either that or I have learned to play with his obvious limitations. Anyhow, I've got a couple of sweet QB recruits that are very interested. Hopefully I can pull one of the 2 in (5th & 12th rated QB's, or something close).

Alright, I get to take out my frustration on Duke! I'm gonna try to score 100 on them.
(Sadly, with my offense, this is out of the realm of possibility)

Although we lost out on the #1 HB to Ohio State a few weeks ago, we got a very good consolation prize today in Adam Todd. He is the #4 HB in the nation, a 5 star player who is 6'0 234 pounds with nearly elite speed. He also has great acceleration, agility, and power. His only downside is his terrible hands out of the backfield.
We also signed a 3 star athlete with elite speed in Mike Adriano. We except him to convert nicely to cornerback or safety. Finally, we signed Andrew Nelson, a 4 star QB who is a very fast QB with a strong arm. Now, it is time to destroy Oregon. |

As expected, we destroyed Oregon. We were up 55-3 at halftime. I put in 2nd strings by the beginning of the 3rd and just ran simple run plays. We won the game 62-17 as they could actually move the ball against our 2nd string.
Fitzpatrick (Sanchez) was darn near perfect early with 4 TD's vs 1 INT on 13 of 16 passing. Our 1st string defense had 3 picks in the 1st half that all set up relatively short fields. McKnight had 3 TD's and just missed getting 100 yards while Stafon did get 104 yards on a lot less carries. Travon had 6 catches for 169 yards and 2 TD's despite us not throwing it to him once in the 2nd half. |

Michigan knocks off Indiana 48-21. The game was basically over after the third as Kodos has some tough breaks. A few INT's that really weren't his fault (one I had a pick six on from lag and a long TD where he went to play his DB but his DB stopped running. He did have a sick 106 yard kick return though.
My QB was 16-18 for 200 yards and a TD. He threw a pick on a hail marry at the end of the first half but he was flawless. Brandon Minor even enjoyed a TD pass out of the wildcat on a WR screen. I also should note Kellen Lewis was hurt in the 1st half which obviously didn't help. |

Yeah, this was one of those games where things just kept going wrong, often due to my own stupidity. On our first drive, I hit A to snap and nothing happened, so I hit it again, and of course it then snaps and Lewis immediately chucks it right to a defender. On the special teams fumble, I was trying to call a fair catch, but I hadn't selected my returner first. Just stupid, stupid stuff. Really frustrating. In any case, you would've won, but we could have made it more competitive. And we didn't do much to slow down your offense all day, as noted. Tough season in Indiana. If we lose to Notre Dame, I'll be put on suicide watch. Good game, DeTox.
