I saw this clip on TV the other day but as I only saw just that, I thought it was the end of some movie.
Didn't know it was a real story. Pretty cool.

very touching, but not at all surprising. I don't find it far-fetched at all to think that an animal would remember the scent of what was essentially it's "parents" even after some time had passed and would know to treat them as such.
But did I get teary-eyed...you betcha |

I actually woke up to this Tuesday on some morning show. My fiancee was getting ready for work and I heard her say "oh my god" so I opened my eyes and saw this lion headed for the two hippies. The mauling didn't go as I expected. Still dazed, I asked if they'd given the lion ecstacy. She explained the story through a steady stream of tears. I could've done without the Whitney Houston, but all in all, it's a beautiful thing. Now I have to stop and figure out why the thought of a kangaroo, an elephant, or a lion going apeshit on a human is so appealing to me.

Wonder what the rest of the lions thought when he went back to the pack covered in hippie stench.

They'd be more ashamed that they were hanging out in a pack because we all know lions have pride.

Was grown men owning lions in apartments a common thing in the 70s?

Well, nobody ever did see that lion again after that... He probably befriended some poachers. Stupid hippies. Last edited by molson : 07-25-2008 at 11:14 AM. |
