Ultimate Fantasy Football
This might come across as ultimate overkill but i'm trying to design a super fantasy football league that utilizes ALL the positions on a team. The one i'm in now is great but it only goes into idp style. I'm trying to figure out a viable point system for punters and individual, O-line play. Not picking up a whole team line like most leagues do on defense but individual positions, ot,og,c ...
Our league also has individual defensive players but doesnt delve to deep into corresponding positions so you could start 3 or 4 mlb's or 4s or 4 cb's etc . The one im workingon has 2 cb,2s 2 olb 2inside etc etc.. So, any idea how to work out a point system for O-line and punters? Am I in overkill territory? I figure there are enough insane FF people around the net to give it a shot.. I figure 12-16 teams or so.I would prefer to fill in 32 teams and make the draft very very hard. It wouldnt be a money league but an experiment on immersion Last edited by Apathetic Lurker : 12-10-2008 at 04:27 AM. |

O-line I would think you would have to draft a whole team's line, and then get points for rushing yards, lose points for sacks perhaps.

I think drafting an o-line and giving points for rushing yards allowed, sacks, etc... is a little iffy - mainly for the same reason that scoring for points allowed on a team defense is iffy. It isn't always that position that gives up the points and/or yards or sacks. It's hard to penalize for something they can't control.

This already exists. I've played for years, and I know TroyF has as well.
http://dynasty.efsports.com/efs/efsfa_index.jsp OL scoring is a little sketchy, but they are somewhat limited by the lack of official stats for offensive linemen. Unlike certain pro football simulations, the NFL does not keep track of individual sacks allowed or key run blocks. The base OL scoring is team based, using points, yards of offense and team sacks allowed. There is some individual differentiation, but it is from non-OL scoring categories, mostly recovering fumbles, making tackles, or the rare rushing/receiving/return yards. Its not the slickest website, or customer support, but it is well established, and generally functions well.
