Shepard needs to work on his passing game but his athletic ability is very apparent.

Hopefully Minnesota commits QB Moses Alipate and TE Ra'Shede Hageman can do something together at some point this game.

I think Shepard is going to see the field right away, but almost exclusively running a "wild tiger" type formation. He should be deadly in that, and will be a good compliment to Jordan Jefferson.

Debose is likely Florida, although LSU is a possibility. Ray Ray is Miami. Dye to Florida State.

DeBose - Florida Ray Ray and Dyron - Miami, although the latter may become a Seminole before signing day.

Missed this thread and put it in the main college recruiting thread. Yes, this one was expected but still very happy to see it happen. Just starting to watch the game on DVR after catching up on dinner. |

Yes, he is. Very impressed with him tonight. Yeah, but he should be a nice big target in the redzone and his hands are impressive. Yes, he is. So excited to see him take over the Trojan offense after a redshirt year. |

I hope Shep to Debose is a small taste of the future. I still think he committs to Florida today, but if I had to pick one, I would pick Debose over even Ruben Randle. Debose's senior highlight film is beyond sick.

Josh Downs is looking very good today as well. The most underrated defensive linemen in the nation, IMO.

There is a recruiting "expert" on one of the USC boards who says Debose is going to surprise everyone and pick USC tonight. I sure hope he is right (but I'm not counting on it.)

I teach one of these kid, Montrell Conner. Great kid. Great work ethic. Committed to Miss. St. verbally but not sure what he is gonna do. He will not really get showcased in this game. He is more a power runner type with speed, the kind who gets better as he gets more carries.

Yeah, I think it is extremely unlikely as well for that reason. Still, it is nice to dream for a few hours. That kid looks like an amazing athlete. |

Xavier Su'a-Filo, Timpview (Utah)
BYU wants this kid badly, and he is refusing because he wants to start as a freshman and feels that he will get overlooked.

I don't think so...if that was the case, his main concern, nepotism (because of the Reynolds boys) would be a moot point.

I didn't say this (Bug maybe), nor do I believe this. But this is typical of you to take a blind, unprovoked stab like this, and is typical behavior for why I can't stand Trojan fans. Congrats on living "up" to the stereotype.

I don't know why he would shy away from that though. Matt Reynolds will be the only returning starter on the line and I think Xavier is better than Houston (who is still on his mission) I think Filo could start next year if he has a good Fall camp, though it will be tough. The one BYU really needs is Manti T'eo, he will start as a true freshman as the linebacking corp is thin. From what I have been reading lately it sounds like he is the Cougars to lose, but you can never count Pete Carroll out. |

Ok. I did a search and Bug didn't say that like I thought he did. All he posted was about Brehaut winning the Elite 11 camp and then I asked if Barkley was there, and he admitted he wasn't. So, I was wrong to post that comment, but I really do hate UCLA and I mis-remembered that post from 5 months ago. Anyway, Brehaut is not looking good out there tonight. Meanwhile, Barkley had a great showing. Looking forwrd to seeing them battle in the future.

Interesting that he said that (I didn't know he valued starting so much), considering I know he won't start at USC or BYU (and probably not at LSU), but he would certainly get every chance to start at UCLA. I have heard rumors the Bruins staff is doing well with him, but last I checked we were still distantly behind those three schools, and one other (Notre Dame?). I expected to lose Martinez to USC, and I don't anticipate Su'a-Filo coming to Westwood either (both were always long, long shots), but since now we know Martinez isn't coming, it puts a little more pressure on the staff to try to make a push on Su'a-Filo.

Honestly, from what I am hearing in the circles is he wants to start, doesn't think he will be given a fair shot at BYU and then I have heard his father is influencing him to go elsewhere, which I find is funny...they brought him to Timpview to get him into the D1 level at BYU.. As for Manti, if BYU does lose him...they have to not be doing something right, we have all his family members he wants to play with committed, we have the understanding and know how for the post mission training and he will be starting, but with Carrol and the boosters who knows....

That just makes it worse (worse in the sense that you should have checked that out yourself before posting). Especially since you haven't edited the original post, as of my response here. I know you really do hate UCLA, and it shows with how classy you act about the rivalry. I know a lot of Trojans and Trojan fans up close and personal, since I am still out here in CA, and for the most part, they are good people. And for the most part, Bruins fans are good people, too. And I know Bruins fans who bring shame to the name as well, with whom I am as disgusted as any Trojan fan. I don't think it is too much to ask that you try to be one of the good and reasonable Trojan fans, or at least, don't be so petty until you are provoked, at the very least. I look forward to Brehaut versus Barkley in the future as well.

My thoughts exactly. I'm interested in knowing where Macro got the idea he turned down BYU because he wanted to start as a freshman? Everything i have heard has LSU and USC well out in front - both places where he wouldn't see the field for a couple of years. If true, it's a huge plus for UCLA. |
