Washington got 2 more important commits this week:
CB Nick Abdullah is a 4 star corner from Olympia, WA. He is ranked 13th in the nation at the position. Excellent speed and strong coverage abilities give him a good shot at starting right away as a true freshman. 3 star JUCO Center Victor Wallace is from Bisbee, AZ. He is the 3rd ranked center in the nation. He is a strong run blocker who will add depth at a position where we were getting thin and has a chance to win the starting job. Hopefully, we can close this upcoming week on a player who was in my top 3 of most important gets. |

We close the regular season with a 54-0 shellacking of New Mexico State and believe me when I say the game wasn't even THAT close. Everything went our way in the first half and we pulled our starters at halftime with a 42-0 lead. Outside linebacker Mark Herzlich added his 6th sack as well as his 9th and 10th interceptions of the season. At this point he looks like a lock to bring home the Butkus. Our final record for the regular season is 8-4.
On the recruiting trail we will likely pull in a class that is ranked in the 15 to 25 range. That includes the #2 overall prospect in the nation who will head up a completely revamped receiving corps. It's not a bad class for a 3 star program but we need to pull in a top 10 class next year for sure to catch up. Kodos', *ahem*, recruiting efforts last year set the program back at least 2 years. I'll need some bumps in the program rankings from "Very Good" up to "Great" to have any kind of shot at it though. Time to sit back and wait for our bowl matchup. Good luck to any teams that made it to conference championships. Last edited by Ironhead : 02-08-2009 at 11:08 PM. |

We knock off Oregon 24-17 in the Civil War game. Score should have been way more than that but every time I got close, something bad happened (couple of fumbles, turnover on downs and a pick six in the second half) In the end they got to my 40 but we held them as time expired.
In recruiting, we picked up the #6 punter in the nation. Woo hoo. And a pretty decent DT who has been ours all the way, as well as a 3 star corner that Stanford also wanted. Hopefully we pick up a few more of the big guys we are after next week. |

I was going to get in my game yesterday, but the Wife had something to say about that. Definitely getting it in today.
I'll be completely honest here, I'm a bit nervous playing against Cal. Rival games are always surprisingly close, and I know Cal has a decently talented team this year. My Cardinal overachievers have a chance of getting upset...I've already locked in the Rose bowl appearance...but I've promised a lot of recruits a winning record against rivals.

Well...Cal wasn't as tough as I originally expected. Outside of one impressive drive in the 2nd quarter, the Bears were completely inept on offense, and not much better on Defense. Stanford comes away with another win in The Big Game by a final score of 61-3.
Andrew Luck threw for 350+ yards, 5 TD's, and no picks. Several recievers racked up a good amount of yardage, especially YAC. Toby Gerhart busted off a 75 yard TD run in the first quarter to open things up, and finished the game with over 150 yards and a couple TD's on the ground. Bring on Ohio State and the Rose Bowl baby!!!

Sorry. We won 52-31. Hey Karl, just FYI their RB, C.J. Spillers or whatever his name is is a beast. The only reason why the game isn't closer is because I got ahead by more than a TD and the comp abandoned the run. FWIW, don't let him catch it out of the backfield. |

How many people are left to play? Does anybody have a game in Week 15?

4 human teams have a game left. The Human matchup and two others. Don't think any of us have a 15 game, but I may be wrong

If we don't advance tonight, I might not get recruiting in until middle of next week because we are moving this weekend... just an FYI when planning advancement schedules.

It looks like the human matchup may end up getting simmed. If they let me know they can get it in tomorrow, we'll extend the deadline. Otherwise, we'll be advancing right around 10 PM tonight.

Dola -
In other news, Galaxy has told me that he is having time issues and can't stay in 2 NCAA Leagues. Therefore, he has chosen to leave NOFL. I'll be looking to fill the position ASAP. |

Thanks. I'll be following and rooting for cmp to take the Bulldogs to greatness (hopefully I brought in some young talent for him to build on).

Sorry, folks, I had another emergency, and was in a location where I did not have internet access. I hope I still have a spot in the league.

You are still in, although your team has been given a bigger challenge since you have missed some recruiting this year. |
