I really liked the old EWR games, but my only problem is that new peopel are never created. Get 10 years into it and your left with 30+ wrestlers. There's no way to add to it after you started either.
So, I'll like it...but probably not much more than the rest. The new features sound sweet, but with not being able to "keep going", it's not much more than a minor distraction for me. |

guess it wasn't supposed to be released yet..... brings back memories of the whole EA Sports/FOF thing.....
I will say in messing around with the thing, it gets a big thumbs up.... the biggest new feature to me, is now you can look back and see you previous cards.... big improvement |

Speaking of which... has anyone checked out the new .400 site? Looks like EWR is the newest member of .400's team...

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Interesting pick-up. I'm not a wrestling fan myself, so EWR doesn't hold much appeal for me but it will be interesting to see what direction the game takes under .400 studios. |

Okay, I'm lost ...
Which group is .400 Software Studios and which group is ... whatever the other entity is called?

I know the baseball and boxing guys are now OOTP Development. The basketball, football, hockey and now wrestling guys are .400 studios (which name makes no sense now).

Thanks Bee, so let's see here ...
OOTP Development = Baseball & Boxing, which means Markus & the Trunzo's are there. .400 Studios = everything else, which means Arlie, the EHM guy who's name escape me at the moment, and now Adam So who got custody of : Joe? Scott? Andreas?

Dang, can't believe I got the hockey stuff mixed-up.
Anyway, thanks for all the help, I was genuinely confused about "Who's on First" since I've pretty much avoided the thread on the whole situation here. Thanks to Joe for the link too, maybe faces to go with names will help folks keep straight who's who. I've d'loaded EWR already, hopefully I'll get to at least dabble before heading out for vacation on Saturday. And then I'll hit it with great interest when I get back. And FWIW, I believe the CFO & DCC pics should appear as coaches in TDCB

Ronnie,
From your comment, I'm assuming that the only change to over while working elsewhere still takes place when a promotion changes level?

LOL, playing as NWA-TNA, I've teamed Mike Awesome and Christopher Daniels up, and fed em Sean Waltman (remember X-Pac?) and Perry Saturn. This was the post match remarks from the two guys:
From Waltman: Mike Awesome is not ready to be moved up the card, i had to work hard just to keep our match from falling apart. Awesome's counterpoint: Sean Waltman tried to make me look bad in our match so you'd stop my push.

You know what, I've been critical of this game in the past, but I will be the first to put down my $34.95. I'm happy to see Ryland hook-up with .400. He has done EW for what seems like the better part of 10 years, and finally now will get some payout for it. I think it's funny (or sad) how quickly some of the people on his board turned on him, for "selling out". One guy went as far as to say he hoped a hacked version got leaked out of the new game.
People these days.... TLK |

The reaction from one of the fan forums doesn't surprise me one bit frankly. IMO, the "community" is the single-biggest weakness of EWR. On it's best day, it makes FOFC's worst day look like a 9 y/o vs Albert Einstein.
More disturbing to me perhaps is the almost total lack of comment at the RaveX forums so far. Not sure what to make of that frankly, if anything.

COOL! I must have missed that. Anyone know if relationships will change? On the community topic, I saw someone critisize HR on his board for not giving FBB out for free because EWR was free. This is one reason why I'll never give out a sim (that isn't simple) for free (If I ever finish one...). I don't want peopel getting used to it being free and I don't want them going to other people saying "He gives his for free, why don't you? You're greedy!!" Kids... |

dola,
The one thing really don't like about EWR is the interface. If the next version is the same game with a new interface, I'll probably buy it. |

Hilarious thing happened. I'm simming along and I get an email saying Chavo Guerrero has had a whirlwind romance with a previously unknown daughter of Linda McMahon and they are now married. I thought it was pretty funny until I discovered that Chavo was unsackable and now had creative control. He's an good wrestler, but this kinda sucks

bigdawg -- Poor Chavo
Frustrating though it must be, I think that's a good sign overall. That's just the sort of evolution that's been missing from wrestling sims for a long time.
