CLCS Game 3:

Apex 3, Baltimore 2

Home cooking did well for Apex as they win their first game of the series. Baltimore got both of their runs and 3 of their 5 hits in the first inning but could not do much the remainder of the game.

RLCS Game 3:

Chico 3, New York 1

Luis Marrero pitches a complete game in a losing effort to the visiting Chico Rebels. Dave Davis pitched 7 1/3 innings, giving up only an unearned run, while Luis Marquez hits his second home run of the series for the Rebels. Chico leads the series 2 games to 1.

CLCS Game 4:

Apex 8, Baltimore 6

In an uncharacteristically high scoring game for Assasins Ballpark, both teams record 11 hits. Baltimore had a home run from Kelly, while Apex had homers from Lockyer and the star of the game, Mike Harte, who went 3 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBI. The series is all tied up at 2 games each.

RLCS Game 4:

New York 4, Chico 1

Miyamoto wins his second game of the series, going 8 1/3 innings, and giving up his only run of the game in the top of the 9th. New York had four solo shots to win this one. This series is all tied up at 2 games each.

Marrero, had a 5.14 ERA this season, but turns it on when the team needs it the most. He pitches 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 walks, but manages to hold Apex scoreless. Gallegos pitched well in the loss, going 8 innings and only giving up 5 hits. both of the runs scored on him were unearned runs.

New York scores three in the bottom of the first on walks to Yi and Taylor followed by a single to Quinn and a double to de Meza.

Apex scores one back in the top of the 5th on a Manuel Ramirez triple, but New York scores 2 more in the bottom of the 7th on a Taheiji Okada 2-run Home Run.

Apex is simply unable to solve Miyamoto this time, as he appears to be out for blood. Miyamoto pitches a complete game 4 hitter, walking only 1 and striking out 12!

New York 5, Apex 1

New York Heroes are the 2011 FOOL Champions!

New file is up (6.8MB) , HTML reports will take a few hours to be up. Probably some point after 10am ET.

The Draft is tommorrow morning, and everyone's reactions to the draft pool likely will be how little talent there is. Trust me, this actually was one of the better talent pools out of the many season tests I ran.

HTML reports and development reports are uploaded. I found a new/faster way to do this to only take maybe an extra hour every day instead. let me know if any reports are missing or any problems are noticed.

I'm sure this is just something that got overlooked, but all the players in the draft pool were created as 17 year olds. It would be nice to have a wider age range in future seasons, say 17 to 22. Thanks.

Weird.. I'll take a look at it when I get back to that computer today. It should have been 17-22 in the configuration. I might have made a typo there, but it definitely was intended to be that range.

It wasn't what I thought. I do have the setting correct, it should generate players between 17 - 22 years of age. Looking in the draft pool, there are 18 year olds also, but the 17 year olds make up 89% of the draft. I was expecting a little more age difference. I'll look to try to figure out why there aren't more college age players there.

Ok, I figured out what the issue is. Thanks for bringing this up. I'll simulate a test league on the side to try to see if I can resolve it.

All of the 18 year olds in our draft pool were actually created as 17 year olds but had their 18th birthday in the 19 days since the draft pool was created.

There is a bug when you specify minimum and maximum age for player creation, that the draft pool is all created to match the minimum age. (in our case age 17). Dark Cloud must have manually been adding extra talent to our previous draft pools, and that does not seem to have the same bug. So we used to see a good selection of 17-22 year olds in those drafts.

The only "fix" to this is to un-set the creation age, so I'll try that in a test league and run it for a bit to see if that resolves our issue for next season. The only downside off the top of my head is that it might give us some 15 year olds as well as some 24-25 year olds. I don't think that is too horrible though if it creates a random set of ages.

Anyways, thanks for pointing this out. Looks like another bug to document for fixing

Yes, it's definitely the creation min/max settings. Keeping the setting at the default of zero will yield players 17-23 years old. The 23 year olds will be the ones that have birthdays right after creation date.

Thanks again, that appears to be exactly what it is doing. So this should be an easy enough fix for next season. I've reported this issue to Markus as well.

Thanks Buckinbranco! That looks great! Banners was one of my favorite parts of FOOL, and something that Dark Cloud is amazing at, but I lack any and all ability at all. I'm glad to see someone step up!

I'm glad you guys like it. I was planning on making everybody's banner in a similar style to this one, since it looks kinda like a real banner and it will be easy to add on additional years. My idea was to do special banners for things like repeats, three-peats, etc. but otherwise stick to this basic design.

However, I do think it was kind of cool the way DC made all the banners their own unique size/shape/design so I would be willing to do that as well. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Does anybody care?

p.s. I gave you plenty of room on the banner for additional championships, so you'd better live up to the hype Drakevii!

I think the best is just do them the way you want to. (whether they are similar or each one is different). Also each owner has the option to do their own banner if they want to just like the old days. (most people are as un-artistic as me though, so I'm sure people appreciate all the banner help they can get)

Congrats to all participants in just an amazing first playoff for our re-started league. Wow, max games in all series. That's just incredible.

In particular, congrats to drakevii on becoming the first FOOL2 champion.
